Axle Shaft is a rod that drives the Wheel. The Axle Shaft plays an important role in supporting the Wheel so that the Wheel rotates around the Axle Shaft, and without the Axle Shaft, the Wheel would come off the axle.

Replacement of Axle Shaft
The effect that can be felt depends on the type of car and whether it is Front or Rear. 。 In general, the Front tends to increase the lightness of handling, and the Rear tends to make it easier for the suspension movement to be transmitted to the Rider, and the condition of the Tire, including the feeling of ground contact, to be easily understood.

What is Chromoly? ‥
The official name is Chrome molybdenum steel. Iron Combined Gold with a very small amount of Chrome and Molybdenum added to iron. 。 Specified to contain 0.1-0.5% carbon, 0.9-1.2% Chrome, and 0.15-0.45% Molybdenum 。
No change in strength even in high-temperature, high-pressure environments, and moderate "Shita" The material is used in bicycle frames, crankshafts, stabilizers, aircraft leg parts, etc., to absorb vibration due to its high strength and ductility.

(1) Rigidity is increased.
Axle Shaft is one of the rigid components of Suspension, so high rigidity and strength are required. 。 Always while driving "distortion" It is the only thing that supports the weight of the car body by receiving the large force from the wheel and suspension. 。
By reinforcing the suspension, the suspension is properly activated against external forces from the road surface during driving, and the tires are stably grounded to the road surface.
→ Improves straight line stability and minimizes yawing during corner rings.
Improved rigidity compared to the→OEMShaft, and increased front ground contact for improved cornering performance.
→Breaking is also more stable, as the back footing is more effective when breaking.
(2) Increased accuracy.
Except for a few special vehicles, production vehicles are limited by cost, and there are many areas in which compromises must be made. 。 The OEM Axle is also not as precise as we would like it to be, due to cost. Simply put, it is made finer than the original Size that we want to make. 。 On the other hand, the external ChromolyShaft is cost-effective and finished to a high degree of precision; the bearing, distance collar, and side color are all in perfect alignment, bringing it closer to the ideal structure envisioned by the developer. 。
The increased axial accuracy of the→shaft reduces Wheel rotation loss and lightens the push/pull.

Replacement Procedure] It's easy... (;・∀・)
(1) Tire does not fall off (not on the ground) Lift to a degree.
Loosen the shaft fixing bolt on the Right Side with a wrench.
Loosen the Axle Shaft from the Right Side.
Loosen the fixing bolt on the Left Side.
(5) Remove the shaft nut and pull out the shaft.
Effect after replacement ‥
◎The rigidity of the undercarriage has been increased, and it is easy to feel the sense of gripping the tire, giving the driver a sense of security.
◎Because the body behavior is settled, effective Brakes that stop short are possible. In other words, less flexure and more stability than OEM.
◎The rotation of Tire becomes lighter and easier when pushing and walking.
The most obvious was at low speeds. No wobble when starting or stopping. 。 I think this is a large advantage for low-displacement vehicles that cannot use high speeds.

It is difficult to experience as much as the front axle shaft.
Since the front axle shaft was replaced and the impression was quite positive, we decided to replace the pivot shaft as well.
#The Pivot shaft that had been in there before had no particular rust and was not out of Grease.
The assembly was done at the same time as the one-year inspection.
The fact that the Clearance was quite SEVERAL seems to indicate that this is a product that attacked the diameter Limit.
Rather than material strength, the above accuracy is a feature.

Compared to the Front change, I have to admit that the change in Pivot shaft change is difficult to understand.
It is somewhat tough to find a difference in Window shadetest.

Based on the above, the product seems to be especially Merit for those who do Sports driving, where the suspension is fully used.
Also, if there is dissatisfaction with Suspension even in STREET use, it should have a certain effect.

Replaced OEM Shaft as DAX Swing Arm Pivot Shaft.
It looks Plating and very beautiful, and is a little bit rusty OEMShaft.

Pivot shaft replacement for 2021MT-09SP
Pivot shafts for the 2021MT-09SP, which were backordered, have been delivered and we immediately replaced them.
However, it is a simple work to loosen the nut, replace the shaft, and tighten the nut with the specified torque. I put the footpeg on the footpeg as shown in the 6th picture and the rear tire is supported by the tire clamps.
The nut is Torque 105N tightened, so it was loosened quickly with an impact wrench.
Shaft is supposed to be 0G, but I could not pull it out by hand. I lightly tapped it with a plastic hammer and it was tight only at first and then I could pull it out by hand.
Next, after applying a thin layer of grease to the shaft made by KOOD for replacement, I inserted the shaft into the pivot hole, but the hole position seemed to gap slightly on the Left Side of the body and it did not go in until the end. I tried to lift up the Rear Thailand and push it to the Left Side, but it didn't work well, and I thought it is not recommended to do so because I have another work to do. (Sweat).
At any rate, now that the Shaft is Penetrating, the Nut is tightened at the specified Torque to complete the process.
It seems that Thread compound application is recommended for Nut to prevent galling.
I have only done some light driving in the city, but to be honest, I have not noticed any large changes like I did when I replaced the front axle.
However, now that we finally have Front, Rear, and Pivot made by KOOD, I feel Refreshing.
Perhaps a comparison of riding with OEMShaft and replacement, or replacing all three at once, would make the difference feel more Large.
We replaced the Front first, then the Rear, and finally the Pivot, so we may have become accustomed to the changes.
Compared to OEM products, Pivot shafts have a very high level of precision and quality, and can be expected to provide a sense of ground contact and rigidity, but I still thought that Pivot shafts are a little difficult to afford in terms of cost.

I changed the shaft of TRX850's pipod. When I was servicing my trx850, I often found that the split pin hole caused the screw threads to lick even though I was tightening the screws normally. I bought this as a countermeasure for that, so I don……t know about Chromoly or anything like that. However, since I used OMEGA for the Grease used when replacing it, I felt the movement was good. What is the point or hang of the installation?
Pivot part is the fulcrum of the rear arm, so it is difficult to work on it every time. First of all, work carefully so as not to knock down the car body. Since the front axle shaft was replaced before, use the axle shaft that was removed and stored. The rear axle shaft of G-Craft Swing Arm is shorter than the front axle shaft. If I had the OEM rear axle shaft, this work would have been easier.
Once the KITACO hollow shaft is removed, apply Urea grease to the KOOD:Pivot shaft and carefully push it in from the other side with a plastic hammer. Push it in carefully from the other side. If you don't work carefully, you will damage the screw mountain, so be careful.
Tighten the rear suspension lower bolt at the specified torque, apply nut to the pivot shaft, move the swing arm at 1G to acclimate the pivot, and then tighten the torque wrench at the specified torque to complete the job.
