Recommendation to Power up with a safety margin
I recently changed my carburetor to a PB16 and went from Powerful to a 90for OEM air cleaner.
At that time, I only had an OEM 50 air cleaner box on hand, and the size of the Element and the box did not match, so I replaced it with a 90 OEMAir cleaner box.
What is Air cleaner box?
But after all the bore ups and high camshafts and stuff, why go back to the air cleaner box?"
The reasons are as follows.
What does the air cleaner box do?
The air cleaner box prevents rainwater, dust, or dirt from entering the air cleaner.
The box enclosure also has the merit of reducing the noise generated by the air cleaner and stabilizing the air delivered to the carburetor.
[Merit]
◎Filters air and is designed to prevent moisture from entering the box even on rainy days, so clean and stable air can be sent to the Carburetor. 。 Depending on the geometry, the feeRing changes slightly when re-accelerating. (In extreme cases, some people make their own air cleaner boxes.)
[Demerit]
Custom vehicles suffer from a lack of power due to the fixed amount of air intake. For this reason, many custom vehicles are equipped with power filters and other products from other brands.
The effect of the air cleaner box.
Air Chamber effect.
It regulates air temperature and rectifies airflow." In short, it is an effect to send air within a certain range to the Engine without causing sudden changes in air pressure or temperature by temporarily storing air that has been taken in.
→ Thanks to this effect, you can ride in summer or winter, sunny or rainy, without carburetor setting.
Effect as an intake pipe
The ...box itself plays an important role as an intake pipe.
Long intake pipe = Air cleaner box
The RPM generated by the →LargeTorque will be lower. 。 Removing the intake pipe = Power Filter
→The RPM generated by the most LargeTorque is increased, and the low-speed Torque is weakened. ▲ The combustion state also changes as the Engine characteristics change, and at certain RPMs the combustion temperature is higher than NORMAL, shortening the Engine's life.
After installing the air cleaner box
Torque seemed to have been physically Torque seemed to have been physically Torque seemed to have been physically Torque seemed to have been physically Torque seemed to have been physically Torque up up 。
Idling, of course, has become quieter while driving and I can hear the Engine better.
I ran it on a rainy day to test it out, and the Engine was stable without any squeaking.
Carburetor setting was done with a box, and it ran with the same setting from summer to winter, but no setting change was necessary.
? No exuberant acceleration toward high rpm.
→Mild means.
Removing the air cleaner box, like the power filter, will increase the intake air volume, so the engine power itself will increase.
However, even if this Power goes up, it is not possible to ride on rainy days, or it is necessary to re-carburetor setting in summer and winter.
Almost maintenance-free in the box, same setting throughout the year, but power is there.
I think it depends on where you want to go.
I used to enjoy the peppy performance, and I also felt the benefit of having the Power Filter attached (lol), so I can sympathize with you on that!
But recently I've been wanting to ride more comfortably and anytime, so I've become a more stable BoxSpec.
For reference as an option.

Well thought out shape.
Front Fender was replaced because it was badly scratched.
No Brand" and "Copy" products are sold at low prices, but we dared to choose "OEM Product" even if it costs 2,000 yen more (laugh).
That impressed me because I thought that CUB's OEMFender was really well thought out and designed (laughs).
[Front Fender].
Front Fender is a panel that covers the outside of the front tire to prevent mud, water, sand, etc. from splashing off the tire while driving. 。 Since these parts are most likely to be scratched during operation, they are installed with BoltUp for easy repair and replacement.
Fender is mainly known as a mud repellent, but it seems to have other functions as well.
Other than Mudguard.
(1) Protect foreign objects from being caught in the Tire while driving.
? Protect Inner Tube of Front fork.
(3) In water-cooled off-road motorcycles, it serves to protect the radiator and regulate wind flow.
Contributes to handling at high speeds.
In the case of CUB, I feel that (1) and (4) are applicable.
★ "SUPER CUB" As the developmentConcept of the I'd rather drive singlehandedly to a buckwheat noodle shop." The goal was to create a high-performance yet easy-to-drive motorcycle that anyone can drive.
Although the recent popularity of CUBs has made general riders, including myself, familiar with them, I originally worked for Maine as a newspaper man, mail carrier, and other jobs where I drove a motorcycle regardless of the weather.
I understood that the unique shape of the Fender, which deepens toward the TireRear, is not just for fashion, but also to prevent mud, water, and sand from splashing on the Tire while driving. And it is also very durable.
→Considering the excellent shape and durability, which makes sense when considering it as a Front Fender, I decided that I wanted to choose OEM.
I did the replacement myself.
Procedure
(1) Place a sturdy box (I used a block I had at home) under the Engine and float the Front.
↓
Remove the front tire.
↓
Remove the 10mmBolt on theFForkReverse side.
↓
(4) Remove the 14mm Bolt and 17mm nut that are jointly fastened with the SuspensionArm.
↓
Replace ?FFender.
→ It's not that hard. But if you are careful about losing Bolt or forgetting to tighten it, it is Large sturdy.
It may be difficult to feel the direct effect of the component as a function, even though the change in appearance can be felt, but without Fender, there would be Demerit all over the place (laugh).
If it's old and damaged, change it.

Bore up car is a good component to check.
When we recently replaced the Valve stem seal during the Overhaul, we also replaced the exhaust Valve Stem.
Why? →Valve on the exhaust side is bright white and slightly GizaGiza................this looks bad (lol).
What symptoms did you have?
?Many stalls while driving.
No ?Idling.
I have not been able to improve the above even after ?Carburetor setting.
?Black smoke is now coming out of the Exhaust System.
[Cause?
Carbon adherence to Valve
↓
●●* Insufficient fuel in lean Burn region
↓
Insufficient cooling
↓
Carbon ignites (Detonation)
↓
Valve erosion
Lean Burn ... lean combustion. 。 In the case of gasoline engines, the ratio of air to fuel that is just right for combustion is called the theoretical air-fuel ratio (14.7 to 1), and if it is thinner than that, the Lean." The name of the product is called
→The possible reason is that when I initially bore up to 75cc, I was turning the carburetor setting quite a bit with the carburetor setting thin.
What is Valve Stem in Engine?
Valve Stem is related to Engine, and the axis of intake/exhaust valve formed by the umbrella and the Stem part is called "Quantity:The term refers to the bearing portion that is set.
Valve stem seals can be used to prevent engine oil leakage.
Where is the Engine valve?
Engine valves are installed at the intake and exhaust ports, and like valves in the heart, they are constantly opening and closing to control air inflow and exhaust gas discharge.
Simply put, it's like a doorway or door to the combustion chamber. 。 It is such an important component that it is not an exaggeration to say that it determines the performance of the Engine, and the reason why there is a limit to the number of revolutions of the Engine is because the Valve cannot keep up with the revolutions.
If you compare the engine to the heart, the engine valve is a valve-like component inside the heart. 。
Valve Replacement Method Same as with Stem Seal.

?Remove the Dynamo cover to expose the Flywheel. Similarly, remove the Side cover of the Cylinder head.

(2) Match the notch on the Crankcase with the top dead center mark (T) of the Flywheel and the 0Mark on the Camshaft Sprocket with the notch on the Cylinder head.
Remove the locker arm, take the camshaft, remove the Valve Spring using the ValveSpring compressor, and remove the Stem Seal→.
Remove the Valve Stem and replace it with a new one.
After installation, do not forget to adjust the tappet clearance using a Thickness Gauge and Tappet Adjust Wrench.
The following is the sequence of assembly:?→?→?.
In my case, I found a damaged Valve Stem when I replaced the Stem Seal.
Stem seal replacement and valve stem cleaning or replacement are done at the same time.
The exhaust valve was available from POSH, but it was for the Big Fin Head Bore Up Kit, so it was NG.
OEM.
[After exchange]
◎Idling is good.
◎Stalling while driving was eliminated.
◎Black smoke also disappeared.
Regardless of the Engine Displacement Volume, if you bore up with the Normal head, the high RPM range and Main jet should be a slightly thicker number.
I don't want them to have to struggle and go the long way like I did (laughs).

OEMCDI just fine.
As a result, it seems that Merit does not have a CDI replacement for Motorcycle such as CUB, and as a result, I had to buy a new OEM50 CDI (lol).
What is CDI ignition system?
Many people may understand that CDI ignition is an acronym for Capacitive Discharge Ignition, which is a part that generates the spark that is essential for engine starting. 。
In the CDI ignition system using a magnet, an electric current is stored in the coil by rotating a powerful magnet called a Flywheel Magnet, and using magnetic resonance, a high voltage of 20,000 to 30,000 volts can be generated in the ignition coil. The increased voltage eventually flows to the spark plug, which sparks.
→ It doesn't seem to have much of a direct connection to running? I don't know...? (laugh) It has to do with startability and idling.
■Delayed and advanced angle ■
What is the purpose of changing the CDI from OEM to external, slow angle or advance angle?
At Crank angle, upper dead center of compression (BTDC) The value (angle) of how many degrees before the 。 This is also called the ignition advance angle, viewed with reference to the top dead center.
[Angle of advance → for earlier ignition timing relative to initial ignition timing "Ignition timing is advanced."
[Slow angle] → if you want to delay it more than this. Ignition timing is retarded. The name of the company shall be referred to as "the company".
If it's 12V, it's CDI ignition, so either change the CDI or change the Flywheel angle! 。
Changing the angle of the Flywheel is not recommended because if you make a mistake, it will break (laugh).
I think it would be better to change to an external CDI, so the Timing adjustment may not be necessary.
CUB50OEMCDI→advance angle 27° fixed Type
CUB90OEMCDI→Idling angle of advance is 18°, and when rotated, the angle of advance rises to 28°.
POSH and others are 35°.
As for the CUB, when is it necessary to change to CDI?
When kettling occurs at the start of knocking or kicking, the pressure in the combustion chamber rises too high, causing the unburned mixture to be compressed and the temperature (and pressure) to rise rapidly due to the heat transfer from the flame from the ignition plug. Delay Timing of ignition.
→ Replace with a CDI that has a lower value than the original advance.
Exhaust Gas smells abnormally bad or has heat outside the Engine. The ratio of heat Energy not converted to kinetic Energy increases due to the delay in reaching the most Large combustion pressure, resulting in higher exhaust gas temperatures or exhaust gas before combustion is finished. 。 This makes it easier for the water temperature to rise. Fuel consumption also worsens. →Switch to a CDI with a higher value than the original advance angle.
Q:Why did I return CDI to OEM?
Before the replacement, I was using POSH's for advancing.
The following things now happen
A:Ketin will try to wake them up.
A:Knocking has increased.
→ Maybe the angle of advance is not correct. The value of the angle of advance needs to be lower. The angle of advance should be 35°.
I have the Engine Displacement Volume up to 88cc with Bore up, and I was thinking that I should increase the value of the advance.
But if the Generator and Head had remained at 50, I wouldn't have needed that much (laughs).
If you go back to 50 OEM CDI.
→ Startability ◎, No Ketting ◎, No Knocking ◎, Acceleration is Smooth ◎.
I think that the CDI should be chosen according to the custom condition of the engine, and changing the angle of the flywheel is an option, but if the engine breaks in the worst case, it will be a large change, so I think it is safe to change the angle of advance with the CDI.
If anyone is having trouble with external CDI, I think it is one way to return to OEM.
