It is also the identity of SR.
Fork Boots are a distinctive feature of the SR400's appearance.
Material:Of course, the parts are rubber parts, so they will deteriorate over time...
It was torn and I replaced it with a new one.
What is Fork Boots anyway?
Front fork boots
It is a part to protect Inner Tube from dust, stepping stones, mud, etc. 。 They are made of natural rubber or silicon rubber and are bellows-shaped.
It has a strong visual component, but what is its role?
The role of Fork Boots.
Spring is attached to the outside of Suspension and used as a cover to prevent Garbage from entering Spring in the Inner Tube, which is used as Spring's Cover.
Originally, Fork Boots were used on Large Motorcycle models with the spring on the outside of the suspension (early Tele ScauperPick models) to prevent rocks and other objects from getting caught in the spring and making it dirty unless the spring was covered.
Later, when Spring was placed in the Inner Tube as it is today, it also began to serve as a Dust Seal. This is what→SR is for.
(2) Attachment for a Classic look and feel.
Since current motorcycles are equipped with a dust seal, it is not functionally necessary to add a dust seal, so it would be a press-up element. However, if there were no Dust Seal, the protection of the Dust Seal on the Fork would be lost, so there is no denying the danger of Garbage and other contaminants getting inside the Fork.
→ Functionally requiredParts and understanding.
There are many Fork Boots for SR on the market, from OEM to Other Brand Products, and although there are personal preferences in design, I chose OEM because of its durability and reliability, considering it as a consumable item.
Replacement procedure - in the case of SR
Remove the front wheel.
↓
Loosen the Bolt on the Top BridgeSIDE.
↓
(3) Remove the +Screw holding Boots at the end and set it to Free.
↓
Loosen two bolts in the "Under" section. Loosen two Bolts of the Under part. 。
↓
(5) Pull out.
↓
(6) Insert new FrontBoots and assemble in the order of (4), (3), (2), and (1).
If you ask a store to do it for you, they will charge you 10,000 yen (laughs), so I think it is better to do it yourself if you can.
[Effect]
It is not a part that can be felt, so it is not effective, but it can protect the Dust Seal of the Fork, so there is peace of mind in driving.
Fork Boots are still old-fashioned parts, and I can't deny the feeling that they are going against the times, but I think they protect the inside of the fork in addition to the dress-up effect, and I feel that they are one of the faces of SR motorcycles.
Fork Boots→Dust SealCover is also available, if you prefer.

Genuine Yamaha O-Ring for forks on VMAX 1200 1992
This old beauty came in for a bit of fork maintenance. There was a bit of a noise and it was discovered that there were a few parts that just needed replacing. This o-ring was one of those parts along with some others. I checked the help section on Webike and cross referenced with Yamaha schematics to make sure they were correct. I added 4 of these o-rings to my basket as I might as well just change all at the same time to save hassle later on whenn the others fail. The preice of these o-rings was really good so buying a few is not an issue or will make any dent in your pocket. Shipped by EMS and arriving with me in 5 days is perfect. Thet all came in a nice Yamaha standard packet and was protected in a bubble wrap envelope Webike made to keep the small items safe. Not a whole lot I can say about these o-rings really, they are not cheaply made, there is no excess rubber hanging around the mould edges, very happy. Install took a while but that was with all the other parts. Really happy customer. Thanks Webike. View detail

Genuine Yamaha Ball Race 1 for Vino Classic 2004
This little scooter came into the shop with some major steering issues. Due to the age of the bike I decided to do a full fork strip down including the head, bearings, races etc. When I got really inside and saw exactly what the problem was. Basically all the races were shot, the bearing was pretty nasty and some of the fittings had been totalled beyond any reasonable repair. I decided the best course of action was to simply replace all the parts that were either not great or done for. Finding the correct parts for this job was not super hard as I just used the help pages and links Webike provide. Then I cross referenced with Yamaha schematic for the bike model to make sure. I had a few other parts in the order and got them all shipped together to save a little money and time so they all arrived at the same time. EMS is the courier I use these days as they just get your order to you pretty fast. 5 days fropm shipping and my order arrived in 100% perfect condition. All the parts came in the standar Yamaha packets and were really well packaged. The race has a good finish in silver and the race has been well moulded. I doubt these are cnc'd anyway. The fit is perfect, the bearings were well greased so this race went into place easily. Now to add the other parts to finish off this build. Great job Webike, very happy customer View detail

Genuine Yamaha Ball Race 2 for Vino Classic 2004
This was the second part of the major fork overhaul on the Vino Classic 2004 which was in desparate need of attention. This was for the Ball Race 2. As before, I used teh Webike help pages to track down exactly which part I needed and then cross referenced with Yamaha schematics for this model of bike. Pretty straight forward really, no hassle. The price Webike have these for is really good value and so why not just go OEM. I had a few other parts in the order and got them all shipped together to save a little money and time so they all arrived at the same time. EMS is the courier I use these days as they just get your order to you pretty fast. 5 days fropm shipping and my order arrived in 100% perfect condition. This race also came in teh standard Yamaha packet and was well protected from any damage. The race itself is weel made, I presume it is moulded as I could not see any cnc turn marks. Fitted really well and a great quality part. Very pleased and ahead with the rest of the rebuild. View detail

Genuine Yamaha Ball Race 3 for Vino Classic 2004
This was the third part of the massive total front for rebuild on the Vino Classic 2004 I had come into the shop for help. This time it was for the Ball Race 3. I found the correct part by using the tools Webike have on their help pages and then cross referencing with Yamaha schematics for my own peace of mind. Webikes price for these parts was excellent and better than I could source locally. I had a few other parts in the order and got them all shipped together to save a little money and time so they all arrived at the same time. EMS is the courier I use these days as they just get your order to you pretty fast. 5 days fropm shipping and my order arrived in 100% perfect condition. As with the other parts for this rebuild, the race came in the Yamaha packet and was well padded out inside the box for safety. This race has a lonmger neck but this means there could be more issues which is what happened on the original part. This part however is super clean, well made and the finish is superb. No issues at all, very happy with my purchase, thanks Webike. View detail

Genuine Yamaha Nut Fitting for Vino Classic 2004
This was the last part of the rebuild on the Vino Classic 2004 which had major issues in the fork department. This part is the nut fitting which is an essential part for doing such a job as it should be. Finding the correct part was super easy as I utilised the help pages Webike [provide and then cross referencing with the Yamaha schematics section for this model of bike and year. The overall price of the part I needed from Webike was really great, a lot less than I thought to be honest. I had a few other parts in the order and got them all shipped together to save a little money and time so they all arrived at the same time. EMS is the courier I use these days as they just get your order to you pretty fast. 5 days from shipping and my order arrived in 100% perfect condition. The nut fitting came in the regular Yamaha packet and was also inside a bubble wrap envelope. The fitting is an essential part of any rebuild as it keep everything where it should. This is really just a nut but the finish was well presented, there were no burrs or sharp parts. The threaded section is spot on and went on really nicely. The rebuild went according to plan and smoothly and finished the job in good time. The end result is a good bike with steering to match. Well impressed with how Webike operate and just get the orders out. View detail

Genuine Yamaha Spring Washer Upper for FZ6R 2016
We were doing a full fork rebuild and additional maintenence on the FZ6R and some parts needed replacing. This was just one of the parts needed. The spring washer upper was not hard to find as it fits a lot of models. The correct part was found via my local Yamaha dealer who did not have these in stock and would take a while for them to get them. This is why I decided to buy directly from Webike as they can get parts really fast. I had other items in my cart and all were shipped by EMS and arrived in perfect state in 5 days. The spring washer came in teh standar Yamaha packet and inside a padded envelope too so it did not get damaged. It is a great piece of machining and had a nice tactile feel to it, it was in perfect condition when I got it delivered too. One of may parts that are getting replaced on this rebuild. Right now, very happy with how it's going and cannot wait until it is all finished. Thanks Webike. View detail

Genuine Yamaha O-Ring for FZR6R 2016
This O-Ring also needed replacing for the fork rebuild on teh FZR6R. The part was super easy to find witht the help of the tools available on Webike. The price was brilliant and even though it's only an o ring, would you really want to risk a pathetic aftermarket one which will bring your riding to a halt... no. So, this was also ordered along with a few other parts and the shipping was very good indeed. I used EMS fast service as they do exactly what they say they will, deliver FAST, the end. Arrived with me within a week of ordering all the parts needed. All packaged really well as expected and any space in the box was filled with bubble wrap and air pockets to protect any smaller and more delicate parts from damage. I now it is just an ring but this is an important one that you should be careful with. When I opened the packet, the o ring was perfect, no tears rips, loose pieces of rubber or anything. Yamaha really do know how to make o rings. It was a nice smooth surface and was flexible but not too much as this could also cause issues. Yes, I have made the mistake of buying cheap alternatives before to my detrement, just ended in disaster and had to get an OEM one anway, just do not waste your money on the cheap crap. Stick to getnuine for these things. Fitted easily and I hope the rest goes together with such ease. Very pleased with my purchase and from now on, I will ONLY buy genuine OEM for my baby. Great service Webike, thank you very much. View detail

Genuine Yamaha Spacer for MT07 2019
This is a spacer for the front forks which I was rebuilding with a friend. A few of the parts had seen better days and this spacer was one of them. Not really many other parts had failed or become corroded but this was certainly one. The price from Webike was really good value and better than I could source locally from my Yamaha dealer. The correct part was found using the tools Webike provide and then I also cross referenced with Yamaha schematics. Shipped with a few other parts to save on shipping, they all arrived with my in 5 days of being shipped. Excellent. EMS are my go to shipper these days as they just do what you need. The items in my order were packed really well and did not have any signs of damage etc. The spacer came in it's own packet. The spacer is very well machined, the surface is smooth as you like and no weird lines from the CNC process were found. Fitted easily and worth the effort if you are comfortable with how to complete the rebuild. Thank you Webike for the great services you provide. View detail

Seal for MT09 Yamaha
I have had to change out a lot of seals recently for one reason or another and this was also a set of them. I decided this time to go for genuine Yamaha OEM ones. Small leaks end up being big problems so definitely needed changing. Really easy to find the correct one. Price was very good and the shipping, EMS was really good as I also had other parts in the same order. Delivered to my door in less than a week from the day of ordering. Japan to UK, how good is that. Excuse the dirty packaging, The seals are perfect and yes, they are just seals but you want them to look like they shpul;d and therefore, work as they should. I have purchase daftermarket seals before for other bikes and trust me, some of those look like they have been cut out using blunt scissors. Never again will I buy cheap no brand parts. It's just not worth it in the end. ALL I can say for this order and the parts included is brilliant, very very pleased. Thanks Webike, keep up the great work and service View detail

New seals Yamaha
Needed some new seals as the previous ones were a little leaky. The part was easy to find using the schematics from links Webike provide to Yamaha. The price the seals were very reasonable and slightly cheaper than my local Yamaha dealer could give me. Unfortunately, some of the other parts I needed they did not have stock so ordered directly from Webike. The shipping was really good as I had a few other items in the same order. I used EMS this time as the Fedex Express was more cost for some reason. Anyway, all the items in my irder were delivered within a week and all items were perfectly packaged. Any spare space in the box was filled with extra padding. The seals look really good from the packet. Not too stiff but not too flexible like some aftermarket seals. Fitted pretty quickly but a can get a bit fiddly. All in all, I am very happy witht eh purchase and can rest easy that the seals will hold for a good time. New genuine oil seals
These were to go with the other seals I needed. The previous ones were a little leaky on one side so figured I would do them all together. The correct part was found using the tools Webike provide, manufactyrer links etc. The cost was very good and better than I could source locally in the UK I had other items in my order and this cushioned the cost of shipping. I used EMS this time as it was a little cheaper than Fedex. Everything arrived within a week. All was packaged really well. Even the outer box was sealed on all sides so nothing could escape in transit. Any empty space in teh box was filled with bubble wrap. Brillaint. The seals are of course great quality, they are Yamaha anyway. Nice and flexible but not so much that you can split them. Fitted relatively easily but take your time. Geniine Yamaha Bearing
Stocking up on Genuine Yamaha bearings as they are the best fro Yamaha bikes. Easy to find the correct bearing using the one I removed from my bike. The part numbers were easy to see on the old bearing and I used that. Shipping was very reasonable as I purchased other parts too. Delivery from Japan to the UK took about a week and that was including a weekend. Cannot fault the shipping at all. When this order was delivered, all the items were neatly and securely packaged with plenty of padding around fragile parts. You can just tell from the workmanship that these bearings are going ro last a long while. Pretty average to fit as long as you have the correct tools. All in all, great service from Webike and will be back. Thanks View detail

Genuine Yamaha Parts for my bike
To replace this gasket washer on both front fork legs little bit difficult. It's a good time to replace this gasket while your at servicing your bike front forks..I'm working on my 1987 TW200 so I can do it anbody should be able to do it.First need to removed the both front fork from the bike.Next, raise the cap end of the fork slightly and remove the cap.Reach into the fork and remove the spacer, washer, and spring. You may have to collapse the fork slightly to be able to reach the spring. Pull the spring out slowly so you don't pull a bunch of oil out with it.Pour the oil out & Cycle the fork once or twice to help get the residual oil out.To reach to that gasket washer will need to remove the bolt at the bottom to separate the two parts of the fork.To do that you will need a tool to reach into the fork and hold the damper rod inside.I used a 19mm coupling nut. It's just a nut that is about 1 1/2 " long. The coupling nut fits in a 19mm socket and sticks out far enough to engage the damper rod.Put a piece of paper towel over the end of the socket, then push the coupling nut into the socket. This will prevent it from falling out.I need to add some extensions to the socket to be able to reach the head of the damper rod inside. Also need 8mm allen key to hold the bolt at the bottom, and with a ratchet on my home-made tool loosen the damper rod inside while holding 8mm allen key. With the damper rod loose, you can simply pull the two halves of the fork apart and bottom bolt will easily come out.Pull the spacer from the end of the damper rod, then invert the top half of the fork and shake it around a little bit to get the damper rod to come out.Now I can replaced with the new OEM gasket WASHER.after cleaning the parts it's time to assemble the fork. With the upper fork tube inverted, carefully push the damper rod and rebound spring into the upper fork tube until the piston ring is inside, then use my19mm coupling nut tool to push the damper rod to the bottom of the fork tube. to help guide the end of the damper rod out the bottom of the tube.Install the damper rod spacer then carefully slide the upper fork tube into the lower fork.Keep the fork horizontal so the damper rod spacer will not fall off before it's seated at the bottom.Insert 19mm coupling nut tool into the fork upper tube until it engages with the damper rod.Insert the lower bolt into a new oem copper washer then apply some blue Loctite the threads of the bolt . Place the bolt into the bottom of the fork, and twist until it engages the threads on the damper rod.Using a 8mm allen key and my coupling nut tool twist the damper rod and bolt together until snug, then torque to 22 foot pounds. That's how I completly replaced the front fork leg gasket washer.yeah took some times to replaced it but well worth the effort and no more oil leaks from the bottom of the fork. The parts ordered from the webike shop and very easy find parts through their website. After placed a order from webike shop they quickly dispatch the package from Japan & reached in Sri Lanka within three or four days.Excellent packing & service. I'm very pleased with their service.I love shopping at webike. The best online shop ever. Thanks WEBIKE View detail

Using the right tools and the best parts help ensure that no issues will arise in the future.I wanted to replace front fork seals and dust seal covers while I'm at rebuild process of my 1987 tw200 front fork legs .webike shop is the best online shop when I need OEM parts for that project. So I always visit & buy stuff from them. very easy to find parts through their website & I love shopping at WEBIKE.The cost of spare parts is slightly lower than other places .Before I put Brand New dust seals in ,had to remove the retaining clip then might get away with cleaning dirt/debris around the old dust seal covers which is separate and on top of the actual oil seal. There is a fork seal tool available to clean dirt & debris from the rubber dust cover which you will see when you remove the boot.these yamaha factory dust seals are the best, the quality has always been excellent.Place the new dust seal at the top of the fork and push the dust seal into place. When seated, the top of the dust seal shoulder should be even with the bottom of the snap ring groove.Reinstall the snap ring by starting one end in the groove, then working the snap ring around until the snap ring is seated in the groove.Thank You SO Much For The Support WEBIKE. Greatly Appreciated View detail

fork seal replacement JOB
Cost for fork seal replacement If you have a seal removal tool use it to remove the dust seal and the oil seal from the fork. If you don't have a seal removal tool a large wrench works well, just be sure to use a rag to cushion the fork so the wrench doesn't mar it.Again you just need to be careful not to nick or scratch the fork as you remove the seals.Begin by installing the seals. If possible, locate a hammer and a socket just slightly smaller in diameter than the outside diameter of the seals. If you can't locate a socket or something similar that will work, you will have to use a punch. If you use a punch, just be super careful the punch doesn't slip and ruin the sealing surface.Note the shoulder machined into the fork. This determines how far into the fork the oil seal can be driven. Note also, that the open side of the seal goes in toward the fork. Using the socket or punch and your hammer tap the seal into the fork. Stop often and check to see the seal is going into the fork squarely, not tipped to one side. You should be able to feel and hear when the seal has bottomed on the shoulder. Pay attention so you don't ruin the seal by pounding on it after it has seated.I'm not really sure as my forks are still going strong at 70000 KM..Place the dust seal at the top of the fork and push the dust seal into place. When seated, the top of the dust seal shoulder should be even with the bottom of the snap ring groove.Reinstall the snap ring by starting one end in the groove, then working the snap ring around until the snap ring is seated in the groove.Apply some fork oil to the inside of the seals, then carefully slide the upper fork tube into the lower fork. Keep the fork horizontal so the damper rod spacer will not fall off before it's seated at the bottom.Insert your coupling nut tool into the fork upper tube until it engages with the damper rod. Insert the lower bolt into a new copper washer, if you have one, then apply some blue Loctite or equivalent to the threads of the bolt. Place the bolt into the bottom of the fork, and twist until it engages the threads on the damper rod. View detail
