【ETCHING FACTORY】Radiator core guard Review
Fits: YAMAHA MT-09, YAMAHA TRACER9 GT, YAMAHA XSR900
Fallen cannibals
As this is my first water-cooled motorcycle, I installed it as a fail-safe.
I chose this product because of its reputation and proven track record.
Considering the original purpose of cooling, it would be better to have nothing extra,
In spring in a snowy country, there is a lot of gravel and other garbage on the roads due to snow plowing, so we installed them as a precaution.
However, this Motorcycle has a high water temperature and a high fan operating temperature, which makes me nervous during summer stops.
I would like to take action if there is a low-temp Thermo or something that can turn on the fan at any temperature.

Radiator protection
I have been interested in these parts for a while, but the price was so high that I thought I could buy a RadiatorBody with a little more money…, then the price of OEM parts went up and the spring sale started, so I decided to buy them.
The installation method was to hook the claws of the Core guard onto the upper part of the RadiatorBody and fix the lower part between the attached Bracket.
I was worried that they might come off, but they seem to be quite precise and firmly fixed.
However, the bolt, washer, and nut included with the lower bracket are small, so those who are not good at detailed work may be frustrated. However, the Bolt, Washer, and Nut attached to the lower Bracket are small.
I dropped the Nut a few times, so I think it would be better to lay down Dustcloth, about the size of Matte or Bath towel, around the area before working on it to prevent it from rolling around and disappearing somewhere.
Until now, because the price of the core guard was close to that of the RadiatorBody in the case of the Black Type, I thought that I should change the Body if it was bent, but when a relatively large stone was hit by bad luck during a touring trip, the coolant water would leak and it would be impossible to run, so I changed my mind. However, I have changed my mind that it would be better to install it as a precautionary measure in case I fall.

To protect Radiator fins
I used to ride a motorcycle and often had bent fins from being hit by small stones or insects, or from touching them when washing or servicing the car.
Since I chose black, I feel that the area around the radiator looks tighter.
I go on several long-distance day-trips and wash my car often, but I feel that the Radiator is well protected, so I am glad I installed it.
I don't plan to ride my Motorcycle in mid-summer, but the ventilation seems to be good, so I don't think I'll get Overheat or anything like that because of these.

First things first.
When you buy a new motorcycle, what do you choose as your first custom?
I am, at any rate, a Radiator guard.
This time we chose (also) Etching factory's Guard.
Very easy to install.
The high dimensional accuracy allows for a snug fit, so there are no chattering noises.
Especially for those who go to Long, you will inevitably encounter some dirt and unpaved roads under construction, but if you wear the Guard, you are guaranteed to have a beautiful memory of your trip without being disappointed later when your core collapses.
The price was also lower than YamahaOEM and generally more satisfactory.
