【brembo】P2-RS84 Rear Brake Caliper P2 34 84mm Review
Mounted on the Rear of a 2021 MT-09SP
I was not satisfied with the OEM caliper and had no intention of replacing it, but I happened to find OVER's Rear caliper support for the new UP Type Crab in an email from WEBIKE introducing their new products, and I bought it and the caliper with great enthusiasm.
As for the effect of Brake or Fee Ring after the replacement, I was thinking that the OEMRear master cylinder is 1/2 and the OEMRear caliper is 1POD (I forgot the diameter), so I was thinking that the amount of stepping on the brake would increase a lot when I replaced it with the new Crab2POD (φ34). However, it is now at a level where I feel almost no discomfort.
Strictly speaking, there is a feeling of a slight increase in the amount of step, but since this includes the fact that the disc and hit have not yet been fully released, it is enough to say that one will gradually get used to it, and those who use the rear brake frequently will feel that the controllability has been increased.
I think they recommended 1/2 when converting Rear to 2POD with Rear master made by GALE SPEED, so I think the result was good.
However, since there was information beforehand that the pad protrudes from the disc, we checked the disc contact surface and dropped the pad circumference by about 1mm.
In addition, since we did not want to make the external Caliper heavier than OEM, we replaced it with a ZETA Titaniumium bolt with good cost performance, and the weight was 606.5g including the pad.
The rear caliper installed so far is also a type of aluminum piston for R1, and the material:I tried to make it as light as possible by using Titanium bolt and pad pin, etc. The weight is 791.5g, although there is no picture on the website, and the difference from the new Crab is 185g, which is larger than expected, probably due to the smaller pad.
*The impact of the reduced Pad area is seen as a good thing for us, as we felt that the OEM was too effective.
I was able to reduce the weight by about 400g with OVER Caliper support, new Crab and MADE IN SUNSTARRear Disc in total, but the Cost performance is horribly poor….
But I also enjoy Bonsai Custom as a way of self-satisfaction and as a way of diversion for Stress, who is too busy to go running.

Touch may be too soft.
Inconvenient because the 10R OEMBrake cannot be removed without removing the Wheel.
Mounted on the underside with Bracket to improve serviceability.
The pad spring is very hard and the pad pin is press-fit, so we replaced it with an external pad spring and pin.
If you are a do-it-yourself maintenance person and use the new Crab, the above should be changed.
Even if you purchase the above, I think the price is low for an Aluminum Piston with high corrosion resistance and a pad.
The 30mm→34mmPiston changes the Ratio and the Pedal is very squishy.
10ROEMMASTER is 14Φ and there is nothing I can do about it because there is no MASTER that is any more LARGER, it should have been a 32mmPiston.

I have no complaints about the NORMAL brake, but I still think that the brake should be brembo.

Since the rear brake is to be replaced, it is necessary to remove the rear axle and rear wheel, pull out the fluid to remove the Nisshin caliper, attach the caliper to the caliper support, put the rear wheel back on, and kill the air venting system.
NORMAL Nisshin's Caliper, much lighter than the iron Caliper support (I forgot to weigh it).
ZH2 has ABSUnit next to the back of the Front light (before the Front fork) and Rear brake master→ABSUnit→Rear caliper and Brake line is long from back to front and back, so it does not work well, Even though I replaced it with brembo, I still feel that the brake is not effective enough.
The ZEPHYR750 I used to ride had brembo front and rear, and the MVAGUSTA also had brembo front and rear.
I may have a disease that requires brembo for Brake and Master Cylinder (grass).

Good
Brembo quality and texture is very good. I use this caliper with rcs 14 and swage brake line , the feeling is good not too hard and easy to control. If only install the caliper that installation is not too difficult, but install the hold set brake system that would be difficult. I buy that in webike big sale ,so the Cost performance is very good. Titaniumium color is cool.
I have read on the Net that it is difficult to bleed the air out of the carburetor with the carburetor still installed. I think it might be better to remove the Bleeder Bolt, but I don't know if the position or the direction of the Bleeder Bolt is wrong. I also changed the brake hose at the same time and for some reason there is a mysterious sound coming from the ABSUnit only when the brake is operated quickly. I don't know why. Other than that, everything else is normal, so I decided not to worry about it.
