Yuasa Battery Company began in 1918, when Shichizaemon Yuasa founded Yuasa Iron Works in Kyoto, Japan.
The company initially produced parts for bicycles, but soon expanded into the manufacturing of lead-acid batteries for automobiles.
In 1925, Yuasa Iron Works merged with another company to form Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd. (JSB).
JSB quickly became the leading manufacturer of lead-acid batteries in Japan, and in 1949, the company changed its name to Yuasa Battery Co., Ltd
Today, Yuasa Battery Company is a leading manufacturer of batteries for a wide range of applications, including automobiles, motorcycles, industrial equipment, and more.
