Replaced after 20 years of use.
I have not replaced this packing for almost 20 years since I purchased the FCR Carburetor Body.
The reason was that there was no problem without replacement.
This is not originally a place for Gasoline to seep in, but rather a packing to prevent Engine intake negative pressure from escaping from here.
However, this is not a place for intense negative pressure to begin with, since the only negative pressure here is the escape of pressure that could not be suppressed by the floating valve.
There is enough room to move normally even with the lid off here, such as during Idol.
However, it is not always possible to use a simple method, and if air is sucked in from here due to negative pressure, the setting will not be able to be issued.
I had been using it as it is because it is not something that suddenly breaks while driving or deteriorates suddenly one day, but I replaced it for the sake of refresh.
Before the replacement, there was no such thing as air biting and no setting... so nothing changed after the replacement, but just in case.
It is a paper packing with a very Showa-era smell, so it is interesting that there is a subtle taste to this kind of packing.
Well, maybe it already has a taste when it is called Carburetor.
If you soak them in oil before assembling, they will grow up to be reusable many times, but this is not the manufacturer's recommended method, so please do so at your own risk.

Finally leaked after 20 years of purchase.
I have not replaced this packing for almost 20 years since I purchased the FCR Carburetor Body.
The reason is that it doesn't leak at all.

However, after 20 years, it finally leaked.

Float packing for KEIHINOEM's FCR Carburetor BodyLarge body, nothing special to say.
Since it is new, it has excellent elasticity, and its cross section is not deformed, so it is in an optimal condition with a slight protrusion when viewed from the side while fitted in the groove.
The seal surface of the float packing of the FCR Carburetor Body is not machined, and like other carburetors, the cast surface is left intact.
Since a cast skin means that the surface is bumpy in decoration, the flexibility of packing is Large.
It would be best to replace it periodically, but in reality, that's not always possible on public roads...
Instead, if even the slightest seepage occurs, it must be replaced immediately.
Compatible Bodies are marked mysteriously, but all FCR Carburetor Bodies can be used in common.

For Exported Specification
GSX-R750 1989 K type installed.
As others have mentioned, this air cleaner is for the Exported Specification, so if you install it in a Japanese specification vehicle, the fuel mixture will be much thinner (the diameter of the inlet is different).
Our vehicle is equipped with UKSpec. carburetor jets, so we were able to drive without any problems after installing this air cleaner.
The filter is coarser than the OEM air cleaner, so it would increase air intake.
KeyStar has a Fuel Kits for UK/EUMODEL, so you might want to switch them out together for a Refresh...

Helmet In Box needed to be modified.
Product Description With this kit, you can replace the carburetor without the need to modify the Helmet In Box or Cowl." but when the PWKcarburetor was attached, it made contact with the Choke Knob faction.
When the rear suspension sinks, the carburetor almost comes off as it is.
Helmet inBOX processing and Choke Knob processing were used to overcome the problem.
I'm a little disappointed and will be replacing it with Wire-style Chalk.
I don't know if I installed it the wrong way or not... (It only sticks as it sticks!)

If you want to Tuning engine+NORMALAir cleaner!
Used for LITTLE CUB.
After standard light tuning such as 75cc bore up, high camshaft, carburetor replacement with PC20, connecting pipe replacement for CUB90, etc., NORMALA air cleaner seemed to be a little insufficient in air capacity.
Nevertheless, we wanted to use the NORMALAir cleanerBox as it is, and we did not want the intake noise to be loud without a filter, so we chose to replace the air filter inside with this product.
Installation was very easy and the procedure is exactly the same as replacing the OEM air filter!
This Sponge Filter certainly lets a lot more air through than the paper version of the NORMALAir Filter.
In addition, when connecting to the connecting pipe of the pre-regulation CUB90, the filter side connection port is a little large, so it could be connected without loosening by filling the gap with a thick gap-filling tape or the like.

Inhalation resistance seems to be quite low.
[How is it used?
The OEMFilter was getting dirty, so I upgraded it while replacing it.
Was the one you received as per Image?
The thickness of the top and bottom of the filter is about half that of the OEMFilter, and the number of folds in the filter is 17 compared to the OEM27. The OEMFilter seems to have poor inhalation and dust collection efficiency, partly because the folds are close together.
Was the installation difficult?
Before installing the filter, apply Sealing Grease from Included Parts:to the outer circumference of the filter, but since the filter is designed with almost no clearance, there is no wobble and it can be installed tightly and securely. Because the filter can be attached firmly, it seems to be large and strange when removing it. I also applied sealing grease to the groove on the reverse side of the air cleaner box lid to make sure it is airtight.
How was your experience with it?
My 390DUKE is fueled by a sub-computer (FuelXPro), which increases both Power and Torque, so I could not feel any obvious improvement in performance after replacing it with this DNAFilter. However, I was able to confirm that the fuel consumption improved, although it was only about 0.1 to 0.2 km/L.

It is attached too tightly to the Air cleanerBox, so I am worried about breaking the Air cleanerBox when removing the Filter.

Points and hangs for installation:There are two claws for fixing the filter. I successfully installed the filter by pushing the claw part downward with a slotted screwdriver and hooking the claw part.
Availability and clarity of Instruction Manual:An Instruction Manual is included, but it did not describe how to fit the fixing jaws well.
Items to purchase together:Since this is the first time to use the DNAFilter, I also purchased the Service kit for FilterMaintenance (Item No. DSK-3001) at the same time.

An Experience I Learned Firsthand (;・∀・)
When I bought SR400, British custom was the mainstream, and I also liked to install CABTON Exhaust System. Of course, I was young, so it does not correspond to Japanese Vehicle Inspection.
I had put it on without carburetor setting....
This is what happens.
Symptoms
Idling Rotational instability
I thought the ▲ sound was dull→Cool. (;・∀・)
▲ inadvertently stalls→ mistakenly thinking this is a taste (-_-;)
▲AfterFire a series of fires during embrasure
I would be ashamed of myself today.
Cause
The resistance of the Exhaust System changes against the intake from the air cleanerretc. and the adjustment of the Carburetor is out of setting.
→The point is that the balance of the combination of a good exhaust system + normal air cleaner is bad and the fuel mixture is out of balance.
It means that the mixture is thin.
As expected, I couldn't ride the car as it was, so I decided to try Carburetor setting (laugh).
Carburetor setting
The method of adjusting the ratio of air/fuel mixing (air-fuel ratio) in the engine. 。 If the air-fuel ratio is not right, the fuel cannot be burned properly and the engine will not be able to deliver enough power 。
In the worst case, it will lead to Engine failure.
The parts used in the Carburetor setting and their roles.
1:Main jet →Large action around Axel opening 50%~.
2:Slow Jet (Pilot Jet) →Engine hangs and affects running at low openings.
3:Air Screw (Pilot screw) →Since the scope of responsibility is covered by Slow Jet, if the Setting does not appear by adjusting Screw, the Jet is replaced, and so on.
4:JetNeedle clip step→Clip step up makes it thinner, clip step down makes it darker effect. 。 Adjust the sharpness of the blow-off from a physical point of view.
I thought I'd try 3 and if it didn't work, I'd try 2. →3 didn't work (laughs), so I tried 2.

◎Main jet:6 types from 165-190, Pilot Jet:3 types from 48-52:The number of component points that are in Set, so you don't have to worry about Setting with OEMcarburetor.
◎They are easy to obtain, which is helpful for Setting beginners. It is difficult to get Jet individually.
Point
You should check the number of OEM or current Main jet and Pilot Jet. It will give you an idea of what to do from the current situation.
It is better to have several plugs, because it is difficult to reuse a plug if it is too dark and too black, because the burn color of the plug confirms the Setting.
If it is a single cylinder, you can do it by yourself because it is only one carburetor. Especially if you have an external exhaust system and it is not working well, I think you should do the setting.

Overhaul, for Setting.
I bought it because I wanted to get a used car for as cheap as possible......but it took its toll on me.
Shortly after delivery, the following symptoms occurred.
Idling is not stable.
When I try to run the car, it does not blow up well.
▲ Frequent stalls.
Gasoline is leaking from the carburetor side.
→ cause = clogged carburetor.
What is a carburetor blockage?
. If the carburetor of the motorcycle is clogged, the proper amount of air mixture is not fed to the engine, and the idling becomes unstable or the engine does not blow well. In severe cases, the engine may stall or even stop running. Overflow (overflow of gasoline from the carburetor) can also occur. 。
→ beautifully matches the symptoms of carburetor blockage (lol).
Two options were then available.
A replacement→OEMcarburetor is quite expensive.
B repair→ cheaper than buying, but ... I don't know (laughs).
I chose to fix B because Gold is Large weird (lol).
Rather than fixing it, I learned that it needs to be disassembled and cleaned.
[Carburetor's Overhaul]. (Disassembly and cleaning)
(2) Disassemble the carburetor, clean it with a special cleaner, replace consumable parts, adjust the opening of the throttle valve and air screw, replace the nozzle (slow jet), adjust the length of the needle (to adjust the amount of air mixture), etc., and then return the carburetor to a brand new condition. The work is done to return the engine to a brand new condition.
Procedure
A brief description of the procedure is as follows
Remove the Carburetor from the Motorcycle.
↓
Gasoline accumulated in the float chamber is discharged.
↓
(3) Disassemble the Carburetor; be careful not to lose or damage Parts.
↓
(4) Cleaning:Use carburetor cleaner to remove dirt and grime from each part, either the Aerosol type or the soaking type. Jets may be clogged, so check the inside by shining a light on it. If the degree of contamination is severe, Carburetor cleaner may not be able to dissolve it and unclog it. In this case, the Jet should be replaced. Note that Carburetor cleaner can be used with Material:Be careful when cleaning diaphragms made of rubber, as this can damage the RubberParts.

(4) Clean Carburetor Product Contents (replace if necessary)
↓
(5) Reassemble Carburetor.
*It is a good idea, especially if you are new to Overhaul, to frequently take pictures before, during, and after disassembly to understand the structure as you work.
After performing the overhaul in this procedure, I found that the disassembled jets were so corroded and the packing was so broken and torn that it was necessary to replace the entire contents.
It's quite a lot of work to prepare parts one by one, so we use KeyStar's Carburetor Overhaul & Setting partsQuantity.:Set.
Quantity with all internal Parts required for OEMcarburetor.:It becomes Set 。 There are also several types of jets for setting when fine tuning is required, such as when an external exhaust system is used.

Although Carburetor overhaul is not a routine maintenance, if the mileage has increased to a certain extent and you feel the engine is not running properly, you should definitely take on this challenge.
