Cost performance outstanding!
BMW motorcycles are well-made motorcycles that are easy to ride for Japanese people. However, the design itself is tailored to the physique of Westerners, so the seat may be high and the handlebar may be far away.
I'm 170cm tall, but fortunately I was born with longer arms and legs than others, so I can enjoy riding the S1000XR even if it's a Large handlebar. However, after a long time of touring, fatigue in my arms and back starts to build up and it turns into pain.
I always felt that this was due to the distance of the Handlebar, after all. I was looking for something to do about it, and I found the Handlebar Up kit on the Wonderlich (Bar riser) I found that there was a "good" one, but I was honestly quite hesitant to purchase it because there was no Impression for the same model of car. However, the price was affordable, so I decided to take the adventure.
The item I received came in a palm size tiered ball box. The material of the tiered ball box was good and not the low quality paper that is often found in imported products. When I opened the box, I found the body and mounting bolts carefully wrapped in cream-colored recycled paper.:It is a very finely crafted finish in aluminum. As expected of Made In GERMANY, it is trustworthy to be able to understand the Japanese products.
However, I was disappointed that the Mounting Bolt was made of Chromium Plating steel instead of Stainless Steel.
About installation
If you don't have confidence in the installation, please ask your dealer to install it. Because the parts are expensive imported cars, if there is Trouble after installation, it is Large strange. Personal installation is done at your own risk.
It is easy to install the Handlebar riser itself, because it only has to be tightened with the attached Bolt, but it is listed below. You can use the Torx wrench, but if you want to focus on torque-management, I recommend the Socket wrench type.
Before starting, hang both ends of the Handlebar with a string from above. (If it's possible.) If you loosen the Handlebar SetBolt without doing anything, the Handlebar may fall down in front of you suddenly. So you should hang the Handlebar from the Handlebar SetBolt. And to prevent Wound, you should cover the whole Tank with the soft cloth.
Be careful not to put too much pressure on the handling of the Clutch wire, brake hose and wiring as the position of the handlebar will change.
If you follow the Clutch wire and Brake hose, you will find them around the steering head and into the Fairing on the Right Side of the car body.:Pair (for Left and Right) Remove the Right SideFairing to check if there is any strain on the wire and hose when fully locked to the
Loosen the 4 OEMSet bolts and pull out the bolts and free the Handlebar with Upper Holder. Check if the 4 bolts can be tightened lightly in this state. If the bolts are too heavy, remove them and try to fix the problem. (Screw Mountain Crush etc.) solution.
If you ruin the female Screw on the Steering head's Handlebar Holder, you'll have to pay a hell of a lot of money. Be careful.
Carefully lift the Handlebar. (The hanging strap is long and unstable.) 、Quantity:Pair (for Left and Right) The direction of the bar riser should be as shown in the Instruction Manual.
If you are able to pinch the bolts, use the attached Bolt as a quantity:Pair (for Left and Right) Insert 1 pc. at a time and lightly tighten it. At this time, you can adjust the length of the hanging string to adjust the position of the handlebar easily.
Remaining Quantity:Temporarily tighten the 4 bolts by adding 2pc, but if the bolts cannot be lightly tightened by bare hands, the bolt holes may not be aligned, so you may need to use the Handlebar for front and rear Quantity:Pair (for Left and Right) and tighten it to the temporary tightening position.
In my case, the subtle distortion of the attached Bolt (Eccentricity) So I put some grease on the part where the screw is not cut and tightened it again.
Check the tightening position of the handlebar.:Pair (for Left and Right) The final position is determined by actually gripping the Handlebar over the Seat to see if it is out of alignment with the Seat and if the Handlebar is not falling backwards or forward.
In my case, the Grip position was the most comfortable when it was fixed in the same position as the OEM.
Set 4 screws and apply a small amount of the liquid screw lock that comes with the Bar riser to the screw thread.:Tighten the 2pc first so that the Upper Holder and Bar riser are in tight contact. Then tighten the rear quantity:Tighten the 2pc with the prescribed torque and you're done. It is normal for the rear side to have a gap. Also, at this time, the handlebar position will change slightly, so check and readjust if necessary.
When the installation is complete, remove the hanging strap and place the Handlebar on the Quantity:Pair (for Left and Right) Turn it slowly until it hits the stopper of the Clutch wire and the Brake hose and check the tension of the Clutch wire and the Brake hose. If the brake hose is pulled strongly, especially when turned to Left, you will need to change to a longer hose.
In the case of my S1000XR, the Clutch Wire and Brake hose were LimitLarge sturdy with the OEM still in place. As expected, Wonderlich makes products with exquisite saltiness.
When I straddled it.
Before I installed it, I was in a riding position where I felt the Handlebar was far away. After installation, you can feel that you can reach Grip naturally when you sit on Seat and extend your hand. Moreover, it is natural, but I think that the tip from the Handlebar became long. I will get used to it.
When you actually drive it.
I couldn't take the time to do a test drive, so my first ride was a Tandem touring with my wife. RidingFeel is the same. I think that this is one step closer to an easy position. I am looking forward to my future touring.
Finally.
It offers high cost performance in terms of ease of installation, product finish and low cost.
I would recommend this one to anyone who drives the same BMW S1000XR. 。

Position options?
The product itself is well textured and solid, but
It only allows for half-hearted position selection, which is common in these Rear Sets.
If you change the setting one step, the footpeg position will move to Large, so you can only choose one option at the end.
I went back to Babyface's Rear Sets because they don't quite match the adjustment range of the NORMAL Pedal, so I went back to Babyface's Rear Sets.
The footpeg itself was too hugeLarge and was one of the worst to use. If anyone is considering buying one.
At the very least, it might still be better if they made it into a 23mm Plate!

Good operability, functionality, design, handling, and cost
I was very pleased with the fast turnaround time from order to arrival. I installed it as soon as it arrived, but I couldn't install it because the handlebar end inlet was stuck to the handlebar. However, when I applied some household detergent to the end, it went in smoothly and was able to complete the installation. After completion, I ran the car. This product is recommended.

It's easy to cut with Scissors, so length adjustment is no problem.
I put a thin layer of neutral detergent on the inside, but it didn't dry well and it still works after 3 days.
