It was the final piece to complete the ultimate catch tank setup
About quality and texture - The tappet breather cover from SP Takegawa is made from billet aluminium with precision machining and a chrome surface finish, the quality from the overall fit and finish is perfect. About the feeling of use - The tappet breather cover sure is lovely to look at in regards to it's design and finishes. It was the final piece to complete the ultimate catch can setup on the Monkey 125 and combined with an oil catch tank has allowed for a clean high RPM running engine. Products to buy together - A key product to buy together with the tappet breather cover is a oil catch tank that will allow for the collection and separation of the oil from the vapour output from the engine. Difficulty of installation - The installation of the tappet breather cover is a simple task that took 0.5 of an hour to complete. Some mechanical aptitude and the use of basic hand tools is all that is required to secure the tappet breather cover to the cylinder head and then the breather hose to the catch tank. Cost performance and comparison with other products - I find the cost of all the products SP Takegawa sell to be on par when compared to what most other companies sell their products for and the tappet breather cover is no different. The design of this tappet breather cover is what sets it apart from the regular tappet covers. About shipping and packaging - With there being no cost difference between sea freight and EMS for the tappet breather cover, I chose EMS for a earlier arrival date. The part was extremely well protected while being covered in bubble wrap and surrounded with air pillows in a sturdy cardboard box. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - For my location, purchasing specialty products like this from Webike Japan is the only option. There are a few local stores selling parts for the Monkey 125 but the range is very limited. View detail
NORMAL+α If you want it, this is the one.
This time, when the store did the Overhaul on the SR400 above the waist. "Would you like to change your Cam with Refreshed Engine?" I was invited to change it (laughs).
I thought it would be safer to use the one that has a lot of data and many examples of installation, so I installed “YOSHIMURAST-1MHigh Camshaft” on SR400 this time.
I was invited to buy the same YOSHIMURA STAGE-2, or ST-2, in stock at the store and offered a discount, but........................bad bugs!
However, this is a NORMAL400 with only Tune for the intake and exhaust, and I don't want it to be too radical and difficult to ride (laughs).
Types of YOSHIMURACam for SR
■ STAGE-1 (ST-1, ST-1M)
STAGE-1 (ST-1, ST-1M) STAGE-1 if it is used for Sports driving, etc. 。 Power is generated mainly at low to medium RPM, so it can run more briskly than the NORMAL Camshaft. 。 STAGE-1 is the best choice for those who often drive a lot of Gymkhanaetc.STOP & GO. ST-1Camshaft for SR500/400 is no longer available, and the re-released version is ST-1M.
■ STAGE-2 (ST-2)
STAGE-2 (ST-2) STAGE-2 for those who place emphasis on high-rpm driving in the Race. 。 STAGE-2 is set to generate power at high RPM range, so it can be said that the specifications are higher than STAGE-1. To prevent Valve Surging etc., it is necessary to change to Valve Spring specified by YOSHIMURA. 。 However, the power at low rpm may be sacrificed due to the high rpm power output, making it a very difficult motorcycle to use for those who use STOP & GO frequently.
In other words...
STAGE-1 (ST-1, ST-1M)
→Valve Spring does not need to be replaced, Torque is relatively easy to ride out from below.
STAGE-2 (ST-2)
→Valve Spring needs to be replaced, Power comes out when turned, but Torque is thin underneath.
Based on my running style and EngineSpec. STAGE-1 (ST-1, ST-1M) I've got it!
I asked for it at the restaurant, but the procedure was.
Procedure
◎First, lower the Engine. It is better to take it down because there are many small parts.
↓
◎Remove the cylinder head.
↓
◎Match the notch on the Crankcase with the top dead center Mark (T) of the Flywheel, the 0Mark of the Camshaft Sprocket with the notch on the Cylinder head.
↓
◎Remove the locker arm, remove the camshaft, and then use the ValveSpring compressor to remove and replace the valve spring and stem seal. 。 After installation, use the Thickness Gauge and Tappet Adjust Wrench to return the Tappet clearance to the proper setting.
*Locker Arm must be replaced for 1985 and newer vehicles. Locker Arm
(YamahaOEM Product No. 583-12151-00) ×Quantity:2pc. Set
↓
◎The assembly process is the reverse of the removal process. Finally, the amount of oil is checked and replenished before starting.
[After exchange]
◎Blow up is sharper than NORMAL. → No drastic change, NORMAL+α.
◎The Torque loss at low to medium speeds, which was a concern, is not felt.
◎Firmly follows the accelerator operation even at high speeds 。
◎Idling is stable, and the Accelerator operates as usual when starting, with Large sturdiness.
I'd like to thank you.
SR400 is originally a short stroke model, so I think you could feel the lightness of the short stroke by using the high camshaft.
If you have a vehicle with no air intake/exhaust, you may not feel the effect. Rather, Normal cam is better if the air intake and exhaust are NORMAL. even Normal cam is not to be underestimated. The →ST-1M has characteristics similar to NORMAL. Normally, changing the high camshaft will make it harder to drive, but this ST-1M is a fee ring that retains the NORMAL characteristics in a good sense.
This is a RECOMMENDATION to those seeking a NORMAL fee ring+α.

Compatible with KITACO clutch covers.
It has been about 6 months since I replaced the clutch cover with a KITACO clutch cover. After two oil changes during that time, the oil filter was finally replaced.
The work itself is easy, but it is good to protect the filter with dustcloth or something similar because the oil drips quite a bit when the filter is removed.
The removed Filter was quite dirty.
I wish I had replaced it a little earlier.
So, we will continue to confirm Repeat in the future.

I am satisfied
I purchased the Silver color.
It is easy to install and replace if you have a hexagonal spanneretc.
The OEM can be pinched and turned by hand to free it, which also prevents some tampering.
Material:Because it is an aluminum product, the very beginner should be careful not to tighten it too much.
Since the OEM product is plastic, aluminum billet parts have been used to improve the texture considerably.
Single item is a world of self-satisfaction, but if used in combination with other fine parts
I think the overall texture will be improved.
Large parts require large machining accuracy and packing material.
I think SP Mukawa will be able to help us in this regard.
I don't know about durability yet, so I'll give it 4 stars.

Low profile parts...a blind spot.
The circumstances of the exchange,
It seems like the oil is getting low ? There is a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust system. I can understand if it is right after starting the engine in winter, but the white smoke doesn't disappear even after the engine is warmed up.
[Symptoms of Oil drop]
▲ BlueWhite smoke is emitted when Engine RPM is low.
▲When the Engine is stopped for a while and then started, White smoke is produced.
White smoke is produced when the Engine speed is increased after Idling for a while. 。
→ This is exactly what it is.
[Cause of Oil drop.
‥
(1) Valve wear
Damage due to age-related deterioration
Expansion and contraction due to temperature change
Deterioration due to dirty engine oil
→?Hardening of Stem Seal Suspect damage due to age-related deterioration.
Because... Stem seals are rubber, and I thought they would deteriorate (laughs).
Valve stem seal
The Valve stem seal is attached to the valve guide in the engine head and prevents engine oil supplied to the head from flowing into the combustion chamber through the sliding surfaces of the valve stem and guide.
Valve stem seal inside the cylinder head.
[Deterioration over time].
→Valve stem seal will not adhere to Valve Stem over time 。 When the oil level drops, the consumption of oil increases, resulting in poor engine performance due to lack of oil, abnormal noise, and in some cases, overheating and seizure.
White smoke and odd odors also appear, the first symptom listed. →That's what this is (laughs).
This replacement is an OEM Stem Seal.
procedure
First, remove the Dynamo cover to expose the Flywheel. Similarly, remove the side cover of the Cylinder head.
(2) Align the notch on the Crankcase with the top dead center mark (T) of the Flywheel and the 0Mark of the Camshaft Sprocket with the notch on the Cylinder head.
If it is difficult to match the tensioners, remove the bolt that is holding the tensioner tension of the camshaft chain tensioner and bleed off the hydraulic pressure.
Remove the locker arm, remove the camshaft, remove the valve spring using a valve spring compressor, remove the stem seal, and replace it with a new one. 。 After installation, use the Thickness Gauge and Tappet Adjust Wrench to return the Tappet clearance to the proper setting.
(5) Assemble the unit in the reverse order of disassembly. Finally, the amount of oil is checked and replenished before starting.
Effect after replacement
......White smoke has disappeared and the exhaust Gas smell has been eliminated!
It is not a part that comes out from the outside, so it is not an easy part to replace, but please check it when you overhaul the Engine or Cylinder head.

If you want to Bore up with Normal head, by all means.
Bore up + High Camshaft seemed to be perfect, but... ?Tappet sound is annoying.
?The RPMs are not as high as expected.
Why? I found out that the Spring of Valve is not good if it is set to "NORMAL", so I will replace it with &arrarrr;Reinforcement Type.
What is the role of Valve Spring?
Valve springs keep intake and exhaust valves constantly pressed against the valve seat of the cylinder head to prevent leakage from the combustion chamber.
The Valve is pushed down by the Cam, but when it returns, it does so with the force of the Valve Spring. The Valve must follow the movement of the Cam in order to produce a stable output.
The valve opens and closes once per cam revolution, making one round trip up to the largest lift. When the Valve Spring can no longer withstand the load (in reality, there are also problems with frequency), Surge-ing occurs and the Engine stops turning. In the worst case, the Valve or Engine will be damaged.
Surge ing When Valve does not follow Cam when the rotation of Engine is increased and Valve vibrates with unintended Timing.
Why do bore up cars need Reinforcement Springs?
If Valve Spring is NORMAL, Surge-ing is likely to occur at high rpm when using high rpm with High Camshaft. By the way, if you strengthen only the Valve Spring on the Normal cam, it only becomes resistance, but there is no Merit.
[Strengthening Valve Spring].
Literally, the Valve Sub Ring hardens itself. (Increases load-bearing capacity.)
Simply put, the Valve Spring Rate is increased to withstand higher loads at higher RPM.
[Effect]
When the Valve Spring is strengthened, the Cam pushes down the Spring, so the Engine Friction is increased. This will suppress the valve jump that tends to occur at high RPM range.
good point
◎No snagging up to high rpm and runs cleanly and without loss.
◎Tappet sound became slightly quieter.
◎They can maintain high rpm even on hilly roads.
◎for STD Head.
A bad point
▲Recommendation will not be made for Single Item replacement. Please do it by Overhaul around Head because it involves removal &arrarr;Valve removal/attachment, etc. of Sealinder Head.
The tool called "Valve compressor" needs to be prepared.
When the engine is running at high RPM, the Valve Spring cannot expand and contract in time with the Valve movement, causing ValveSurge-ing. 。 Reinforcement springs have stiffer springs, so they can be eased to some extent.
It is quite time-consuming to replace, but it is effective.
Whether you are going to do it yourself or ask the Shop to do it for you, we will recommendation!

Perfectly sized for reduced hose size engine breathing applications
About quality and texture - The hose connector from SP Takegawa is made from a hard plastic material with a transparent white finish and the quality from the overall fit and finish is perfect. About the feeling of use - The hose connector is perfectly sized for engine breathing applications where you have a regular sized hose that is required to be reduced to to a smaller hose for your small barbed hose fittings on your oil catch tank or air filter pod, which I have both of on my Honda Monkey 125 but is only to be used with air systems and not oil or fuel. Products to buy together - The hose connector does require to be firmly secured to the breather hose, the use of zip ties is not my preferred method as a permanent solution so the use of specifically sized 9.5mm and 13mm hose clamps from SP Takegawa is what I would recommend. Difficulty of installation - The installation of the hose connector is a simple task that took 0.2 of an hour to complete. Some slight mechanical aptitude and the use a basic hand tools is what is required. Cost performance and comparison with other products - I find the cost of all the products SP Takegawa sell to be on par when compared to what most other companies sell their products for and the hose connector is no different. About shipping and packaging - With there being no significant cost difference between sea freight and EMS for the hose connector, I chose EMS for a earlier arrival date. The part was extremely well protected while being covered in bubble wrap and surrounded with air pillows in a sturdy cardboard box. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - For my location, purchasing small common use products like this from Webike Japan is the best option when combining multiple parts together if you are also taking into account the shipping cost. Required if Bore up.
When the engine displacement volume is increased by bore-up, the scale of explosion becomes larger than that of the OEM, and the oil pump designed for 50cc of the OEM cannot keep up with the oil circulation. Therefore, we introduced the Reinforced Oil Pump.
[Oil pump's role].
The oil pump pressurizes and pumps the engine oil to circulate it to the various parts of the engine. 。 This enhances lubrication, cooling and cleaning effects.
[What happens due to lack of Oil circulation.
→ oil film breakdown and increased oil temperature.
The oil pump sucks up engine oil that has accumulated below the waist and circulates it above the waist. (The oil then flows back into the lower back to continue circulation.) Cylinder Cylinder head Camshaft Piston Therefore, if the oil cannot circulate properly, there is a possibility that these parts will break. To explain this in a simple way, if the oil film on the parts runs out, the parts will be damaged and the oil will be lost. [Burns in] it appears as if ... 。 Naturally, parts that are seized are unusable and must be reassembled.
Effects of Reinforced Oil Pumps
Circulation of the proper amount of oil reduces the burden on the parts of the drive unit. 。 Also, by increasing the Engine Displacement Volume, a larger volume of oil can be circulated to the engine, which generates more heat and thus cools the engine even more.
*OEM oil pumps are designed for OEM for 50cc, so if you bore up, you will have to reconfigure the oil pump with an enhanced (higher discharge) oil pump to match, or the oil will not be circulated in time.
This Oil pump has a capacity = amount of Oil to send 。 If OEM Product is diverted, the capacity will be as follows : Assuming that 50cc is 1.0, it is about 1.8 to 2 times larger.
good point
Heat generation from the Engine after driving has subsided.
Even if you go for a long ride and turn it around a bit, there is no longer any heat drop.
Idling is stable.
A bad point
I also removed the oil, removed the →clutch cover, and replaced the →gasket.
It's worth changing, though (laughs).
When you bore up the engine, it is strongly recommended to install a Reinforced Oil Pump. If you are looking for a domestic manufacturer, SHIFT UP is the cheapest.
If the Bore Up Kit you purchased becomes useless because you were too stingy with the Gold amount, the cost will be large…. 。 Some of you may have assembled the Bore Up Kit with the NORMAL oil pump, but it is not a stingy PARTS, so I recommend not to drink that opinion too much.
If there is room, it would be even more effective if the orifice of the oil coming out of the oil pump is enlarged.

Not just fitSize, but no problem.
It was used when Oil was replaced in May 2023. Gasket removed at this time. (used by a familiar Dealer). The outer diameter of the "Gasket" is φ20mm, which is larger than the outer diameter of the "Drain bolt" (about φ19mm?). The inside diameter is also larger than the drain hole on the crankcase side, and there is a recess in the shape of the drain bolt left in the gasket. The inside diameter was also larger than the drain hole on the crankcase side, leaving a convex shape in the form of a drain hole, which is evidence that the Gasket was properly deformed and fulfilled its packing role.
The Daytona Gasket I purchased this time has an outer diameter of φ18mm, which is smaller than the outer diameter of the drain bolt, so I am a little worried about whether the tightening strength per area will be too much, but aluminum is soft and easily crushed, so this is about the same size as the Torque. (25N-m) Crankcase at (possibly made by Casting Iron?). The side will not be deformed.
I drove it as fast as I could for about 100 km after the replacement and about 250 km after that, including after that, until I gave it away in February 2024 at 8038 km, and there was no Oil leak. It is functioning properly.
