High quality that is Universal and reliable.
Clutch wires for GSX1100S series sold by many manufacturers.
Although the production itself seems to be made at the same factory in all Manufacturers, there is quite a difference in usability when actually installed in a vehicle.
Therefore, I feel that it is important to consider the extent to which the person who ordered the production of these wires has thought about what he or she was making.
This time, we replaced the Unicorn JapanBrand Clutch Wire that had been installed since the vehicle was purchased.
Since the lubrication and maintenance had been done well, the friction was not particularly large or deteriorated, and the condition was still usable as usual,
I obtained a Clutch Wire from FACTORY Mameshiba Brand, which was used for my KawasakiZ, which I own separately, so I replaced it.
Comparison with Unicorn Japan products
Difference in shape on the Clutch holder side
→The gold part of the clutch holder has a sharply rounded shape for the Unicorn Japan product, which is similar to the OEM product.
In contrast, Friction here is likely to be kept low because of the loose construction of the radius. It also seems to have a high degree of freedom when bending.
◆Total length
→It is a little longer than those made by Unicorn Japan.
My GSX1100S was converted from OEM Separate Handlebars to Power Builder's Pipe Handlebar, and I have been using the OEM Length Wire with no problems, but this extended section gives me the perfect amount of freedom of maneuverability. The extended section provides a great degree of freedom in handling.
I think that the structure of the crankcase side has been extended a little to absorb the differences between various specifications such as Japanese specification and for International Model for GS750/1000 and KATANA, which use a Pipe Handlebar without changing the structure of the crankcase side. I believe that the handlebars are slightly extended to absorb the differences between Japanese specification and for International Models.
If it is a common sense spec., it is a length that will never be wasted with any spec. such as Handlebar Up Type, Tiller Separate handle, OEMSeparate handle, etc. The extra wire will not be used in a strange way and cause an increase in friction. The excess wire will not be used in a strange way and cause an increase in friction.
It is also possible to handle a special layout such as the one used in the Race, where the clutch cover is replaced with another brand product and the clutch wire is brought in from the EngineRight Side in a large turn without passing under the tank. It is thought to be possible to handle this special Layout with a margin.
(This kind of anomalous layout is difficult to achieve with the tightly-arched Gold section of the OEM Shape.)
The shape of the clutch holder, combined with this flexibility in handling, is one of the advantages of this product.
There were no points to note in the replacement process itself.
For reference, in my case, I have set the wire routing as follows on the Pipe HandlebarSpec.
LeftInner Tube is routed from the clutch holder to the bottom of the tank.
Follow the Main pipeLeft Side of the Frame to the Crankcase side, being careful not to interfere with the Wiringetc. under the Tank.
Pass under the Camshaft Chain Tensioner between the #1 and #2 Indicators and enter the Screw on the Crankcase side.
The adjuster on the clutch holder side is set so that the adjuster is in a position where there is room to swing in either direction to increase or decrease the play.
The knurl position of the lever on the crankcase side was also readjusted so that the wire and lever are generally placed at right angles to each other due to the change in the total length of the wire.
The feel of the system is completely comfortable with no problems at all.
The Friction was reduced more than that of the lubricated Unicorn Japan product when the new one was operated without lubrication as a trial.
I feel that the wire replacement this time has resulted in the optimization of the handling of the wire in a detailed manner.

Purchased as a spare
I am currently using the same Clutch Wire. I bought it as a spare so that I can replace it immediately if it breaks at any time. I have not compared it with other Wires, so I am not sure about its performance. View detail
