Operation Fee Ring Improvement
I am riding a GSX-R125, but when I use high RPM or go for long touring, I felt the clutch connection was loose. I was a bit worried about disassembling the clutch as a DIY project, but it wasn't that difficult. The most difficult part was removing the gasket.
I was concerned about the possibility of one-sided contact, etc., considering the spring's seating position, so I removed the burrs with diamond sandpaper. The thickness was 0.9mm when I measured it with Caliper, though it was described as 1.0mm. I thought, "Why is this a plate material? I thought so, but... I have not verified whether it affects the surface of Spring's seat or not, because it is my personal impression.
After the installation, the connection feeling of the clutch became direct. The feeling of slipping when shifting up at high rpm has been reduced. I think that the pressure of the OEM clutch is stronger than that of the Shim, and it is harder for the clutch to slide. I thought that the weight of the clutch lever would theoretically be heavier since the spring has been reduced by the thickness of the shim, but there is no change that I can actually feel.
I think the Shim installation was effective. If you are dissatisfied with the clutch feeling, it may be worth replacing it. Personally, I am happy with the replacement.
