Clutch Assembly Lock Nut for the Grom
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the lock nut from Honda, made from steel with a special design due to the location on the inner diameter of the clutch assembly. About the feeling of use: During clutch maintenance on this recently purchased pre-owned Grom I found the incorrect lock nut fitted to the clutch assembly which made the removal quite difficult, it's great that the Honda replacement parts are so readily available to rectify issues like this. Products to buy together: A replacement right crankcase gasket would also be desirable to purchase along side the lock nut for assembly of the clutch cover. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes three quarters of an hour, removal of the clutch cover for access is needed and then the use of some special tools, one to turn the lock nut and the other for holding the gears while torquing down the lock nut. Not difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Great costing as you are getting Honda quality for a low price and I have not seen any aftermarket options to compare. About shipping and packaging: Sea frieght was my perferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently this service is unavailable from Japan Post, EMS is much faster which is nice. Replacement Oil Separator Plate for the Clutch on the Grom
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the oil separator plate from Honda, a formed steel plate with the attaching bracket spot welded on that fits perfectly below the clutch. About the feeling of use: An essential part for helping the clutch achieve a long life by directly applying oil to the clutch disks, this had been neglected to be refitted by the previous owner during his maintenance. Products to buy together: This oil separator attaches to the crankcase with two M6 bolts that are needed to purchase alongside the oil separator if like me this part was missing from your engine. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 1 hours, remove the right crankcase cover to be able to access the clutch pack and remove it as a whole, this will then allow for the oil separator plate to be positioned at the same time as you reinstall the clutch pack and then secure the oil separator plate with the two M6 bolts. Not difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are receiving reliable Honda quality for a low price and don't see there being any aftermarket options for this part. Clutch Lifter Bolt for the Grom
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of clutch lifter bolt from Honda. Three steel bolts zinc coated are used in this location. About the feeling of use: A part that can stay in service for tens of thousands of kilometers if correctly installed but they can break during maintenance and is then best to replace all three. Products to buy together: If you are performing maintenance on the clutch that has high kilometers it would also be desirable to purchase a clutch bearing along side the clutch lifter bolt so this entire part of the clutch is renewed together. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 1 hour, you need to remove the right crankcase cover to be able to access the clutch assemble. Use a locking tool to prevent the clutch from spinning and remove all three bolts evenly together, ensure the clutch lifter is holding the clutch springs correctly and then install all three new bolts evenly together. Not difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: A high cost from Honda for a basic bolt and if you are happy to purchase a generic bolt you will definitely find better pricing. About shipping and packaging: The faster shipping options are too expensive for myself so I just have to wait for my part to arrive via sea freight. About the feeling of use: A part that can stay in service for tens of thousands of kilometers if correctly prepared for installation and if the clutch mechanism is not abused while riding. Products to buy together: Since you are replacing of the clutch plates then the clutch friction disks inbetween would also be desirable to purchase along side the clutch plates so this entire part of the clutch is renewed together. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 2 hours, remove the right crankcase cover to be able to access the clutch assemble and remove it as a whole for disassembly on a workshop bench. Once disassenbled, start to install an oil soaked clutch friction disk followed by an oil soaked clutch plate untill all 5 clutch friction disks and all 4 clutch plates are installed on the clutch pressure plate then finally the clutch center before bolting down the lifter plate. A little difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are receiving reliable Honda quality at an affordable price for your repairs as compared to cheaper clutch repair kits available that are not up to standard and don't last as long are the Honda clutch parts. I usually use Active's Lever, which is easier to grip than this one.

We use it as a substitute for insurance because the Case can break quite a bit in the event of a fall, making it impossible to continue sailing.

About quality and texture - Excellent quality, this Honda OEM gasket is not just gasket material but also has a metal layer in it too. About the feeling of use - Perfect fit on installation and expect zero leaks but can not confirm due to the location when operating. Products to buy together - Good idea to buy product # 11394-KYZ-900, the right cover gasket together with this gasket for regular servicing. Difficulty of installation - Easier then easy, just need to orientate the raised surface of the gasket correctly Cost performance and comparison with other products - fair costing to this gasket from Honda and on par with other brands here on Webike. Original ones break easily as they are cast metal
The OEM Honda cast aluminium clutch lifter plate are not very strong and can beak easily on installation if you do not follow the recommended way to install them. Best thing is that they are cheap to replace if you are unlucky and this happens to you. I would not advise using the OEM cast metal one if you are increasing the clutch spring force a lot. Best to upgrade this to an billet one like the one from Kitaco part number 307-1452600 if you choose to go this route. View detail

Honda OEM Oil Filter Rotor Lightened
One of the popular modifications for the Honda Grom is to lighten the oil filter rotor to achieve increased acceleration off the line and for the little capacity engine to rev easier. This can be achieved by purchasing a product from Special Parts Takegawa or if you have access to tooling can machine down the Honda OEM oil filter rotor from approx 1000 grams to 500 grams. The quality of the Honda part is great and the price is very reasonable so this is a great option for the DIY mechanic that likes to tinker with their motorcycle.
