    Description

    ■What is an EPTA disc?

    A new concept brake disc created by SUNSTAR x BRAKING.(BRAKING is a brake brand of the Sunstar Group.)

    [Features]
    The latest fastening method between outer and inner is adopted.
    This greatly reduces inner wear.At the same time, the coupling shape suppresses inner distortion caused by braking torque.
    This has resulted in a weight reduction.
    The outer layer is a mix of Sunstar's "ventilation slit" and braking wave shape.
    This will stabilize the effectiveness of the pads through proper pad cleaning and reduce the gyroscopic effect by reducing the weight, leading to improved handling.
    The wave shape also improves cooling performance.
    The high performance of our products is proven by the fact that they are used by the top teams in big races such as Moto America, WSSP, BSB, CIV and have won the series championships.

    [Conjunction Shape]
    The outer and inner rotors are conventionally fastened with a floating pin to receive the braking torque. In this design the pins have been eliminated and a straight shape extending from the outer rotor is fitted to the inner and secured with a special caulking plate.
    The surface of the inner rotor receives the braking torque, which dramatically improves wear even though it is fully floating.
    The inner strain in response to braking torque is reduced, resulting in a direct brake feel and excellent initial bite.
    At the same time, thermal strain resistance has been improved.

    [Wave & ventilation slit outer rotor]
    Mixing the "ventilation slit" technology of Sunstar and "wave shape" braking technology, the slit shape has a pad cleaning effect to stabilize the brake feeling (stabilization of the friction coefficient).
    The wave shape reduces weight and greatly improves cooling performance.

    [Lightweight concept]
    The heaviest portion of the brake disc is the outer rotor, which is located close to the wheel rim and far from the axle shaft, the wheel's axis of rotation. Since the brake disk rotates at high speed this greatly affects the gyroscopic effect.
    The EPTA disc has a unique shape that makes it lighter than conventional brake discs of the same performance.
    This greatly improves handling performance.
