Description
Required for exhaust replacement.
This item is "Pine Valley Original ■ Set of 2 Exhaust Joint Gaskets for 2017 Dyna, Softail, Sportster".
[When replacing a slip-on exhaust on a 2017 Softail, Dyna, or Sportster, use a gasket at the joint.]
The stock exhaust pipes on the 2017 Softail Dyna Sportster have a narrower, narrower section where the exhaust is inserted, and a gasket is installed.
By installing the gasket, the diameter of the exhaust pipe will be the same as that of the conventional exhaust pipe, so any slip-on exhaust on the market (compatible with the 2016 model) can be installed.
[The gasket should be replaced with a new one every time the exhaust is replaced.(The gasket cannot be reused.)]
Once the gasket has been formed by tightening the clamp, it will not return to its original shape, which may cause exhaust leakage.
If you try to remove the gasket from the silencer by force, the mesh will collapse and the performance of the gasket will be significantly reduced.
[This is a "Made in Japan" high quality gasket made at a factory used by Japanese motorcycle manufacturers.]
Pine Valley's commitment.
The part of the silencer that comes in contact with the insertion port is "tapered" (becoming thinner and thinner), so it can be installed smoothly without getting caught on protrusions inside the insertion port.
■Installation method
Place the gasket on the slip-on exhaust body.
At this time, insert the gasket so that the mesh side is on the outside.
Insert the exhaust into the exhaust pipe until the edge of the exhaust meets the edge of the mesh, and joint it with the exhaust pipe.
It does not matter if the end of the exhaust is flush with the end of the mesh in the end.
If you are using a new exhaust, it may be a little loose, but if you tighten it with the exhaust clamp after installing it on the exhaust pipe, there will be no problem.
If the exhaust is used, it may not be possible to set the gasket if it is distorted or tight.
If you cannot set the gasket, use a pipe or something to shape the inlet port and then set the gasket.

Caution
*There may be changes in product specifications due to the manufacturer's reasons.*The end O2 sensor cannot be installed on Softail models after 2021 and an error will occur.
*To solve the error, you can set the O2 sensor cancellation setting at the same time as the injection tuning, or use the O2 sensor canceler (20111027).
*Some Softail models from 2017 onwards do not require a gasket.
*Not for use with FLSB Sport Glide and FXDRS.
