First two units of Royal Enfield Himalayan have landed in the US.
Royal Enfield has already begun exporting the new Himalayan to developed nations like the UK and the US. Royal Enfield North America has shared the photo of first two Himalayan motorcycles which have already landed in North America.
Royal Enfield Himalayan has only been launched in India as of now. Launch in other markets will take place later over the next few months in phase manner.
In developed nations, where emission norms are stricter than those in India, Royal Enfield will offer Himalayan with Fuel Injection, instead of carburettor as is seen on the India-spec model. In North America, Royal Enfield Himalayan has been imported for customer showcasing. The bike has not been launched yet.
Powered by a new 410 cc single cylinder engine, Royal Enfield Himalayan is an entry level adventure tourer. The engine is rated to deliver 25 PS and 32 Nm torque via a 5-speed gearbox.
Named after the mighty Himalayas of India, Royal Enfield Himalayan features a relaxed seating position, which proves to be a boon on long rides, especially the one’s with bad roads. Long suspension travel with off-road tyres give the bike a very rugged appeal. Instrument panel consists of analog as well as digital meters.
Hardly a little over two months since the bike was launched in India, Himalayan was in the news recently due to a silent recall, which the company likes to call – Proactive Service Update. This was done after many consumers complained of loud engine noise, hard gear shifts, bike not starting, and so on.
Here is a detailed post on what were the problems before, and how the bike is after the recall.
