It’s all about the terminology. This Honda CRF250 Rally was presented at the Tokyo show last year as a ‘concept bike’ which meant officially, Honda wasn’t talking about this bike being a production bike at all.
Even though we all knew it was going to be built in the very near future.
Now, Honda is officially calling this bike a ‘prototype for production’ which means Honda is vaguely talking about it going into production. Even though we know it wiall be on sale as a 2017 model later this year.
The ‘prototype for production’ sees the bike getting a revised front screen, LED headlight, altered side panels and a Termignoni exhaust system and is part of a huge push into the adventure bike market at all levels by Honda.
For those people calling the likes of the CRF1000L Africa Twin too bloated for real off-road adventure this new CRF250 Rally could well be the perfect mud plugger.
