Two months ago, we showed you Indian’s very purpose-built v-twin engine, which the American company would use to go flat track racing. Today, we can show you the completed machine, the Indian Scout FTR750.
The bike debuted last night at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
Back the to the Indian Scout FTR750 though, the bike features an all-new high-revving race-built v-twin engine. The chassis is a bespoke tubular steel frame, with a focus on keeping a short wheelbase, centrally locating the large airbox, and using carbon fiber bodywork.
AMA Grand National Champion Jered Mees has been helping Indian dial-in the Scout FTR750, aiding Indian in its hopes to officially enter AMA Pro Flat Track for the 2017 season.
It should be noted that the release of the Indian Scout FTR750 comes to use around the same time when Harley-Davidson announced its formal return to flat track racing, debuting the Harley-Davidson XG750R – the first purpose-built flat track racer from the Bar & Shield brand in 44 years.
We do not believe this to be a coincidence.
