BMW Motorrad developing a 6-cylinder Superbike? - 686

BMW-Motorrad is reportedly said to be working on an all new bike for its 2016 line-up. This upcoming motorcycle is expected to share its motor from its high capacity tourer, the K 1600 GT. Though officially there is no confirmation from the Company itself, but a German website has recently posted a rendered image of this inline six-cylinder motorcycle.

This rendered image indicates how this all new bike may look like, and going by its look, this motorcycle received street fighter looks with a compact body. It has a powerful single headlamp and 6 tailpipes coming out, making it a mean and edgy looking motorcycle.
This bike could be named as K 1600 R and might use aluminium bridge type frame that has been employed by the BMW S1000R and S1000RR. Like we mentioned before, it will share the same motor as its 1600 GT, which is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 1649cc engine that could churn out a maximum power 157.80 bhp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 17Nm at 5,250 rpm, mated to a 6-speed transmission.
