Lorenzo: “We tried a different setting to turn better” - header14

Better turning and front tyres the focus for Jorge Lorenzo during the post Spanish GP test in Jerez.

Despite taking a dominant first and second in the Gran Premio Red Bull de España not 24 hours beforehand, the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team were back out testing with Jorge Lorenzo the Monday after. The first official in-season test of the year gave Lorenzo a chance to once again evaluate the rear fuel tank and experiment with a number of electrical settings on his YZR-M1. Completing 59 laps, Lorenzo set a best time of 1’39.332 to end the test over all within a tenth of Marquez. He also had the opportunity to test an optional exhaust before calling it a day on his first home Grand Prix weekend of the season.

Jorge Lorenzo: “Especially important for us is that we tried a different setting to turn better on the corners and I think we made quite a big improvement. Apart from that we tried some little things but nothing gave a better improvement.”
