We don\u2019t get the <\/span>Yamaha<\/a> XSR700<\/b> here in the North America, which is a shame, even though we do get its larger sibling, the <\/span>XSR900<\/b>. No, you\u2019d have to go to Europe for the FZ-07-based retro roadster. And if you went to Turkey, you could see this one-off <\/span>scrambler-style XSR700 by <\/span>Bunker Customs<\/b>. <\/span>XSR700 \u00a0<\/span>Bunker Customs<\/b><\/p>\n

Brothers <\/span>Can<\/b> and <\/span>Mert Uzer<\/b> of Bunker Customs created the one-off XSR700 as part of Yamaha\u2019s <\/span>Yard Built<\/b> series which tasks some of the world\u2019s top customizers with reinterpreting Yamaha models. The Uzer brothers hand crafted the side panels, front and rear fenders, radiator covers, seat plate and fuel tank covers from 2mm aluminum. The fuel tank covers are held together by a <\/span>CNC-milled aluminum spine<\/span>, sanded and left unpainted to create a distinctive stripe along the tank.<\/span><\/p>\n

To make the custom XSR700 more off-road capable, Bunker Customs increased the ground clearance from 5.5 inches to 7.9 inches by <\/span>replacing the underslung silencer <\/span>with a high <\/span>scrambler-style<\/span> exhaust and replacing the 17-inch cast wheels with the Super T\u00e9n\u00e9re\u2019s <\/span>wire spoked wheels <\/span>(including a 19-inch front). The stock forks were also replaced with the FJ-09\u2019s <\/span>upside-down fork<\/span>\u00a0which also increased front suspension travel by about a quarter inch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Renthal bars help create an off-road riding posture, while the new suede-covered seat was raised by 2.4 inches using <\/span>a bolt-on extension<\/span>\u00a0that can be fitted to any XSR700.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bunker also pulled several parts from Yamaha\u2019s accessories catalog including a<\/span> billet hand levers , <\/span>pegs and side-stand risers. The finishing touch is the circular halo headlight that\u2019s somewhat reminiscent of the Ducati Scrambler\u2019s lamp.<\/span><\/p>\n
