High strength cam chain tensioner that can follow the cam chain and maintain proper tension
■Specifications of the stock tensioner arm
The stock tensioner arm is made from a plate material, so the contact area with the push rod is small, and the rubber at the end of the push rod sinks into the shape of the plate thickness.
If you use it for a long time with a high power engine, the stock tensioner arm may be deformed and the push rod head may be damaged.
In this case, the proper tension is not applied to the cam chain, which may cause engine trouble.
■SP Takegawa tensioner arm
SP Takegawa's tensioner arm is made from super duralumin material which is very strong and thick to increase the strength of the arm body and also to increase the contact area to the push rod.
This not only strengthens the tensioner arm, but also reduces the risk of the rubber at the end of the push rod sinking or breaking, greatly improving the life of the push rod.
■Special colors and oil holes are used
A special collar is installed in the center of the arm to control the oscillation of the tensioner arm, so that the force of the push rod can be accurately transmitted to the cam chain.
An oil hole is provided in the arm body to lubricate the moving parts with oil.
■Comparison of stock tensioner roller and SP Takegawa tensioner roller
The SP Takegawa tensioner roller has a larger diameter than the standard roller to maintain proper tension on the cam chain and to reduce roller wear.
In addition, the sprocket shape, which is not used in the standard model, has been adopted to improve the followability to the cam chain.
