    Description

    Thank you for your patience.
All trial bikes are equipped with this chain tensioner.
Body, Collar, Large Washer: Iron, small washer: Aluminum alloy, high-strength urethane bearing 10mm shaft rollers.
The tension and material are strong.

In trials and off-road riding, the chain is always taut, preventing the chain from getting out of control and accurately transmitting the power of the engine to the rear tire.
For example, if the chain is slack on a slippery slope or rock, even if you try to apply drive with the accelerator or clutch, the chain will first tighten and then suddenly transmit after a moment's delay.
Therefore, the bike may slide or jerk when the accelerator is closed.

A strong spring is used, so that the tension is firmly applied to both the seal chain and the 428.520 chain.
We don't recommend using it for long distances on highways, but we have had it on my bike for a year and a half, and it has given me absolutely no trouble at all.
There was no loosening or bending.
It's protected by the side stand.
It's nice to have a chain that doesn't clatter and rattle.

    [Additional image]
・Installed state. The chain tension is as per the manual, about 40mm.
    ・Red roller type.CT-1-R
    ・Black roller type.CT-1-B
・Most bikes are likely in this condition, but the OEM part called a tensioner made of foam urethane should be attached; however, it deteriorates and disappears over a few months or years. It is a roller that does not apply tension even if it is attached.
    How to install
・Remove the white plastic bushings and bolt washers. The pre-existing shaft is welded to the frame. We don't use the white plastic bushings.
・Insert the large iron washer and the short hook of the spring into the hole of the existing bracket.
・Insert the steel collar with chain oil into the tensioner body and insert it into the existing shaft.
・Fit the smaller aluminum alloy washer into the existing shaft that protrudes slightly at the back.
・Tighten the stock bolt washer that was removed earlier.
・Lift up the main body, push down the spring with a spring hook (cable tie, wire) and hang it on the tensioner.
    ・Finished installation, positioning.
・To make it easier to understand the explanation, we removed the chain case.
・This is a bracket of the first generation 1985 model that we took in for maintenance before.Same for all model years. The urethane foam roller was also missing from this bike.
・You may be surprised to know that we adjust the shape and strength of each spring in our workshop. We used to be a technical advisor for a jewelry manufacturer, so we am familiar with the processing of spring materials.

Please refer to the video. The power of the engine is directly transmitted to the rear wheels.
