Description
The ZEPHYR1100 ST-1 camshaft has been requested by many customers since it was discontinued, and is now available again with a machined design.
The camshaft is a very important part that determines the engine characteristics and we hope you will experience the engine feeling that Yoshimura has created.
What is Yoshimura's Camshaft]
Unique Cam Profile Design
Yoshimura's camshafts are designed with our own unique know-how. The design of the profile begins with the knowledge of the standard engine specifications. The engine speed and characteristics are assumed, and the profile characteristics of Yoshimura camshaft are decided based on it. Next, the determined profile characteristics are expressed in numerical values.
From the form to the numerical value, Yoshimura's longtime know-how leads to the unique profile.
A prototype camshaft with the profile created in this way is installed in the engine and checked to see if the characteristics are actually as expected. If not, we have to redesign from the beginning again. After this series of work, Yoshimura's original cam profile is derived.
Consistent production control
Yoshimura's machined camshafts are subject to consistent production control, including the centering of the camshaft material. We pay attention to the camshaft material that reproduces the profile, and we cut it from scratch in our company.
We do not apply heat to any part of the camshaft to distort or deform the camshaft and we do not weld the camshafts together at high temperatures. In order to make the camshaft hard enough for the engine, we select the best heat treatment from various methods and apply it.
Original cam profile design and consistent control of production. This is Yoshimura's commitment to the camshaft.
The cam specifications are derived from the camshaft design values. Due to the manufacturing process, there is a slight error in each lot.
The ST-1M can be installed as a bolt-on unit, however, if you require more precise timing, we recommend that you re-timing the valve timing for each bike.
