    The complete engine is a high quality engine that has been assembled by SP Takegawa mechanics with proper control of each part.



    Based on the 17R Stage+D stock head shape, large diameter valves intake: 26mm / exhaust: 22.5mm are used. (stock valve diameter for 12V Monkey is 19mm for intake and 16mm for exhaust)

    This is SP Takegawa's original cylinder head that uses the optimum valve pinching angle, combustion chamber shape, and port shape for the large diameter valves.

    The port diameter of the 17R stage is 24.5mm for the intake and 19mm for the exhaust, compared to 14mm for the intake and exhaust of the stock head.

    In addition, the 3-dimensional port shape, combined with the larger diameter valves and ports, allows more intake and exhaust gases to flow smoothly.

    Valves: (Intake 26mm / Exhaust 22.5mm / Valve stem shaft diameter 4.5mm)

    The weight of the larger diameter valves is kept to a minimum by using a narrower stem shaft and waist machining.

    Valve Springs: Single valve springs with unequal pitch (2-stage pitch) are used for optimum spring rate and to reduce surging at high RPM.



    Auto Decompression Camshaft

    Auto decompression function: Allows engine starting with light kicking force even with high compression and high displacement engines.

    There are three types of camshafts, R-10E, R-15E, and R-20E, and they can be changed according to the application to enjoy the driving performance.

    The camshafts included with the complete engine are 88cc/106cc: R-10E.



    The camshafts that come with the complete engine are 88cc and 106cc: R-10E. The displacement can be selected from two types: 88cc and 106cc.



    Cylinder & Piston

    The 88cc cylinder is an aluminum steel sleeve cylinder, while the 106cc scut uses an all aluminum ceramic plated cylinder for durability, airtightness and heat dissipation.

    SP Takegawa cylinders are equipped with a temperature sensor as a standard feature, and the cylinder temperature can be measured with SP Takegawa's built-in thermometer or by purchasing a thermometer.

    Pistons: The piston skirt is coated with molybdenum for better initial acclimation.



    The 88cc/106cc Scat uses a reinforced crankshaft with a stock stroke of 41.4mm.

    The X-shaped connecting rods are machined from forged material. The X-shaped connecting rods are machined from forged material to reduce weight and increase strength, diffuse buckling stress, and greatly improve torsional rigidity.

    The surface is shot finished. In addition, the crankshaft journal bearings have a special bearing with a larger inner diameter. This makes it possible to increase the shaft diameter from 20mm to 22mm at the journal section, where the stress on the crankshaft is concentrated, to increase the strength of the shaft.

    In addition, the crank pin at the large end has been enlarged from the stock Φ23.1 to Φ25.1 to increase the strength of the large end.



    The crankshaft support adapter is equipped for the secondary kick starter system.

    The crankshaft journals are now supported at 3 points instead of 2 points to reduce crankshaft shaking at high output and high rpm, and to increase crankshaft durability.

    The crankshaft support adapter comes with a special generator cover (*The primary kick starter system uses a 2-point crankshaft).



    SP Takegawa's original reinforced crankcase is used.

    SP Takegawa's reinforced crankcase is a high quality crankcase specially designed to increase the rigidity and detail of the crankcase to cope with the load on the crankcase caused by the larger displacement.

    The oil pump is a crankshaft direct drive type oil pump. Compared to the chain drive type reinforced oil pump, the discharge volume is approximately doubled.

    The breather pipe has a 6mm inner diameter compared to the stock 4mm inner diameter to reduce the internal pressure of the crankcase for large displacement engines.

    The crankcase itself is equipped with an oil jet mechanism that constantly sprays oil directly onto the small end of the connecting rod and the backside of the piston for lubrication and cooling.

    The transmission bearing is equipped with a special bearing hold plate to hold the big torque.



    Super cam chain tensioner is used.

    Super cam chain tensioner maintains proper tension and tracking of the cam chain. The tensioner arm is machined from high strength super durable aluminum material and increased in thickness to increase the strength of the arm body and also to increase the ground contact area to the push rod.

    An oil hole is provided in the arm to lubricate the working parts with oil. The surface is coated with hard anodized aluminum.



    There are two types of crankcase to choose from: primary kick starter system and secondary kick starter system.

    The primary kick starter system allows the engine to be started by disengaging the clutch no matter what gear it is in, and is recommended for racing use where a quick engine start is required when restarting.

    In the case of the primary type kick, the engine can be started without putting direct stress on the transmission.

    Special clutch kit for primary type kick starter system

    Special clutch (wet type) is available only, and the cover is made of magnesium die casting. The magnesium clutch cover surface is painted brown.

    The reinforced clutch uses 5 discs to eliminate clutch slippage that can occur with high power engines. The clutch comes with a slipper clutch mechanism.

    The slipper clutch reduces the shock of sudden engine braking when downshifting at high RPM. The clutch cover is a patented clutch cover that allows the installation of a thermostat.

    By installing the optional thermostat unit, overcooling can be prevented. Furthermore, an oil outlet is provided to allow oil to be taken out to the oil cooler. Clutch cable 850mm included.



    Special Clutch Kit for Secondary Kick Starter System TYPE-R (WET/DRY)

    TYPE-R has been downsized to reduce the rotating mass weight by 12%. 6 friction discs are used to achieve a 6-disc reinforced clutch.

    This increases clutch capacity by approximately 20% compared to the standard product, making it suitable for high power engines. Clutch is without slipper clutch mechanism.

    R. Crankcase cover is made of die-cast aluminum, buffed and finished with clear coating. The wire type uses a light and smooth rack and pinion system. Clutch cable 850mm included.

    Hydraulic system includes clutch master cylinder, mesh hose (775mm), and banjo.

    WET: Wired clutch cover is forged aluminum with shot finish, hydraulic clutch cover is machined aluminum with clear anodized finish.

    DRY (dry): Both wire type and hydraulic type clutch covers are machined aluminum with clear anodized finish.

    The clutch cover for DRY (dry type) has additional ventilation holes to further improve the cooling effect. The ventilation holes can be fitted with a set of rubber caps (sold separately) to prevent the noise characteristic of dry type clutches.

    TYPE-R allows oil to be taken out to the oil cooler by installing the optional oil cooler unit.



    TAF 5-Speed Cross Transmission (S-Touring) This transmission has high durability and excellent operability. The S Touring gear ratio is used for the complete engine.



    Super Street Outer Rotor

    The Super Street outer rotors are designed to provide stable high power output for both street and racing use, while maintaining the same brightness as stock lights and charging level to compensate for the power consumed while driving.

    The SP Takegawa rotor body uses a medium size flywheel that is 50% lighter than the stock rotor, reducing the load on the crankshaft and providing ease of riding and the necessary power generation.

    In addition, the position of the pickup has been reviewed to set the optimum ignition timing for various engine displacements, enabling high power characteristics and response that cannot be obtained with the stock rotor.

    The specification of the generator cover differs between the primary type and the secondary type. The primary type uses a separate type drive sprocket cover, and the sprocket can be replaced by removing the sprocket cover only, without removing the generator cover.

    The secondary type has a buffed aluminum surface with a clear coating. The sprocket can also be replaced without removing the generator cover. The generator cover for the secondary type has a built-in bearing that is compatible with the crankshaft support adapter.



    Hyper C.D.I. included. Adopts ignition characteristics suitable for SP Takegawa engine parts.
