The small negative pressure hose from the carburetor should be used with the lid (stopper).

In the case of successive generations of Yamaha 2-stroke motorcycles, the structure of the gas cock has changed from the early type RZ250 (4L3) to the RZ250R (29L).Before 4L3, the gasoline flow was controlled by ON-OFF-RES switching, but after 29L, the gasoline cock automatically flows gasoline by detecting the negative pressure (suction force) caused by the up-and-down movement of the engine piston.It is marked ON-RES-PRI, and ON and RES indicate that gasoline flows when the negative pressure is generated (in other words, when the engine is running), and gasoline stops when the engine is stopped, and gasoline does not flow to the carburetor when the engine is stopped.PRI means that the gasoline flows independently of the engine.Therefore, the negative pressure type cock has a thick hose through which gasoline flows and a thin hose to detect the negative pressure.
