This is a back step kit with excellent functionality that can be used in a wide range of situations from street to sport driving with a comfortable position.
A 3-position plate that allows the footrest position to be moved for position changes, and 2-position left and right pedal arms that allow the toe position to be set for braking and gear changes.
By changing these settings, you can set the riding position to your liking.
Features of the SP Takegawa Back Step
Conventional back steps are designed for visual appeal, and due to the complex combination of parts, many products have the step position too far outward from the bike. When the step position is moved outward, the bike's operability tends to deteriorate, and small bikes such as the Monkey can be greatly affected by this.
SP Takegawa's rear shock absorber can be installed on the bike without the step position showing on the outside, because the operating parts and base plate are arranged to maintain the optimum riding position even when the back step is installed. This makes it easier to hold on to the bike body and support the bike body with your feet.
All machined aluminum back step parts
The parts are machined from high-rigidity and light-weight aluminum material with excellent corrosion resistance and beautiful color anodizing.
The master cylinder holder is black anodized and has the SP Takegawa logo laser marked on it. All other parts are silver anodized.
These two colors of anodized aluminum are used to accentuate the three-dimensional look of the step area and bring out the presence of the custom parts when installed on the bike.
Specially designed footrest
The footrests are machined with great care and attention to detail to provide the best design and grip.
Step sliders are attached to the end of the footrest to prevent damage to the asphalt in case of contact with the road surface when banking.
Use of right and left interchangeable parts: In the event that parts are damaged due to a fall, etc., the footrest, pedal arm, and step plate can be replaced with a single repair part because they are common parts.
It is recommended for circuit driving as it is easy to deal with troubles that may occur during driving.
Stop lamp switch for back step is included.
A stop lamp switch that can be mounted on the rear brake arm is included, so it can be used safely when driving on public roads.
Position 1
Street position (approx. 145mm back / 6mm up)
In the street position, there is a lot of stop and go due to traffic lights and cars, and it can be a long ride.
By setting the bike to the street position, you can have more room for your footing and riding position when stopping, without going up too high, which reduces knee bending and reduces fatigue from long hours of riding.
The left and right pedals can also be changed to two different positions, so you can set the pedals to your favorite position for a more comfortable riding position.
Position 2
Touring position (approx. 155mm back / approx. 9mm up)
The touring position is suitable for light winding in mountain areas and mountain passes.
This allows the rider to enjoy a banking angle and speedy cornering on gentle mountain passes that is not possible on the street.
Since it is not full back, it will reduce fatigue on long touring.
Position 3
Racing position (approx. 165mm back / approx. 12mm up)
It is suitable for deep banking on road courses and tight corner entry on kart courses.

For 10-inch bikes (or SP Takegawa 12-inch wheel bikes) with 12cm or 16cm long swing arm
■Stepping up to the rear disc
This part is a step up from the rear drum brake to the rear disc brake.
